so when you think of final fantasy IX, most people think of Zidane, Garnet and Vivi. But personally, Freya is my favorite character in the entire Final Fantasy series, I was just wondering what other people's thoughts on her were. Ya know about the whole Sir Frantly thing and all that.

Cause I admit it...I cried when Sir Frantly showed up and he didn't know who freya was. It was so sad ;_;

Yeah, it was sad about Freya not being remembered. But I didn't cry. Overall Freya was an exceptional character in and out of battle. But my fave FF IX character is Steiner.

Freya is my favourite character out of FFIX aswell as Beatrix, she was class in battle, white draw, jump, stuff like that made her realy useful.
And her story was really sad, the destruction of her home, Sir Frately...

I do like Freya. Shes a cool character and strong at that! I did feel bad when she wasn't remembered but I didn't cry. The part when she dances is one of my favorite scenes.

lmao I guess I'm the only one that cried >_> but I'm a pansy like that. And yeah, Freya was always my strongest character and I also liked Beatrix, the part where you get to use Freya and Beatrix = my favorite part in the game lol

but also she and jump and fight well
and DUDES shes a rat when are we gonna see
a rat character again

Freya is definitely one of the more developed secondary characters, mainly since she is introduced in the first disc and has her own piece of the story that she fits into, since you go to Burmecia and learn about her past, she is more drawn out than the other secondary characters. I only call her that because the focus is around Garnet and Zidane and with Steiner and Vivi pulling up the rear. Freya is probably the only that can stand on even ground with them. Steiner has his own story and piece that he gets, even though he is still rather lacking in development as a character. He is probably the closest to a secondary character, if it was not for Vivi's Magic Sword, Steiner could have been replaced by Freya as a more valuable character with the abilities she had. Plus she had a better development than he did. It was not until Beatrix came into the picture as a love interest that Steiner really got any development, he was always locked on to the single goal of returning the princess. While that is who he is, it makes for a flat character, though he was comedic even nothing else. Zidane and Garnet get the full development treatment since they were the focus and are the main characters. Vivi easily pulls up next to them since he has a very deep pondering story, including the Black Mage Village and the sordid tales they had with all of the Black Mages and Kuja.

The rest, Quina was a dumb block of comedic value, nothing was probably inside that head and was really all intinct anyway. Amarant, while curios, was introduced far to late in the story to actually be of any really merit when being a character. He almost just simple an eighth character because they need two parties of four for a part of the game. His little bit with Zidane in Treno was almost tacked on because without it you would not have any real background on the guy. And Eiko while provided a background, was always in Garnet's shadow, a very angsty shadow, but still in her shadow. She just had answers for Garnet and had very little development other than to be half comedic. They all remained secondary characters and ended up getting treated as such.

While that does not necessarily answer the question and a bit long winded, Freya's story does interest me. Her line they have for her is probably one of my favorite, "To be forgotten is worse than death." But they all had some interesting quote.

I remembered that when Sir Frantly showed up and it upset me worse. I will admit I did shed a tear or two but didn't outright cry. Made me wonder about things.

My brother on the otherhand did cry. Probably from a past experiance he had.

Fratley was a player he could have anyone, he made the right choice!
But seriously I really never liked her anyway, to make an odd comparison it's like a WWE storyline. When she was searching for Fratley they had a clear idea of what they wanted to do with her, sort of like a long running feud with another superstar. But after Puck left and Fratley didn't recognise her they were lost, they made some Love/Hate thing with Amarant and little else, sort of like when WWE writers run out if ideas, and BAM random tag matches on Heat.
Odd but it works to me, besides i never liked her.

i love freya she has got some good abilities i did not cry about the sir fratley thing nearly did though i like her move cherry blossom because all petals go everone that looks good to watch

Freya rocked. She is hands down my favorite FFXI character. This may have something to do with the fact that Dragoons are my favorite character class, or maybe it's just that Freya kicks tail. She was areally well rounded character with an interesting past, and with some great developments during the course of the game, Sir Fratley, Burmecia...it's all just so well thought out. A great character.

Freya's great, I pretty much had her in my party whenever I had the chance.
