Is Final Fantasy IX number 1 all over?

When I first played Fianl Fantasy origin's (1 & 2) i realized straight away that final fantasy 1 is so much like IX, and i don't just mean the black and white mages and some odd monsters but the big things, like Garland the big bad guy of 1, is one of the big bad guys in 9, i walked into a placed in 1 where dwaws where walking up to me saying "Rally-Ho!".... Is this all just me? Or is final fantasy 9 just the best game in the world due to it is from the true origin's.

well I'm not sure if people would agree that it's the best game ever [although it is my favorite final fantasy] but I think that many people can't argue against the fact that there are a lot of similarities, I mean wtf, this little kid said to me in one of my games "I want a trance kuja doll!" O_O and Garnets little robe thing she wore in the beginning was like the white mages' robe in 1 too..very interesting...=/

Of course there are similarities. They were made by the same people, and they sort of tried to continue the plot of the crystals. (you look on the back of the game box and it says "the crystals are back") so it's really not the same game, but a sort of wild tangent of a sequel. No idea why they brought Chaos into it, they made him seem kind of weak......oh well.

FF9 was made to mix elements of the newer FFs with the older FFs...and it worked.

i dont think ffIX is the best over all it is more like my third favorite first is ffVIII and then ffVII coming closley in second

I like FF9, I HATE FF1. it was crap. Na, I doubt it is FF 1all over again.

it does have similaritys but that was because they tried to. They put the "i want a trance kuja doll" easter egg in there on purpose. And they made garnet wear that robe thing so she looked like a white mage.

I don't think it was, FF1 was quite basic which meant it could of been but the system was completly differant. Like on 1 you can choose your part but on IX you are forced into it. I don't even agree that FFIX is the old ones with new graphics. I see it more as a new FF game set in the past time's but uses a lot of stuff from the old FF games. Also there is a lot of references from all the FF games.

I think that Square was trying to go back to it's roots when they made FFIX and what better way to go back then to use the first game ever. Still they did not just copy the game format and story line they just borrowed from it to create a new game that was reminiscent of the old games. They have take ideas from many of the past games to create new games though look at the element crystals or Ultros.

9 had a lot of things from other ones. I think it is good independent. But, using things from other games makes it better too.
