Seven new moderators. I know, it's a lot.

Okay. There. Now you all know, so you don't have to freak out. Spike has been a mod of the TOA forum for a solid week now, but I'm listing him anyway.

Now, for the why. As many of you know, Strong Bad resigned from moderating the General Chat forum, as he simply doesn't have the time for it. In light of that, I began seeking a replacement. Then, Neo Necron mentioned that he may do the same (I don't know if that's a definite thing or not), so I realized I would need more than one person.

Due to General Chat's activity levels, I felt that it really needed three mods, so that it can be watched on a more "round-the-clock" basis. The forum will be watched through most hours of the day, so issues will be resolved fairly quickly in most cases.

That said, I realized that 70% of all post reports are in the Intellectual Discussion and Music forums. Even before I became administrator, I was saying that we would only add moderators where it was absolutely necessary. Judging by the amount of reports that come in for those forums, I felt it was necessary.

All of these mods are on a type of probation. While I feel that all will be fine moderators and therefore retain their spots, there's always a chance they'll be gone. If someone loses a spot, I DO NOT want anyone asking if they can replace them.

Moderators were nominated and chosen in the Shinra Corporation (note: not the staff forum) based on a majority rule.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE CHOICES FOR MODERATOR, I DO NOT CARE. THIS THREAD IS SIMPLY HERE TO INFORM YOU OF THE CHANGES, NOT TO DEBATE THE NEW MODERATORS OR COMPLAIN BECAUSE YOU AREN'T ONE. ANY POSTS WHINING ABOUT THE NEW STAFF MEMBERS WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS TROLLING AND WARNINGS WILL BE ISSUED; NO EXCEPTIONS.

I know a handful of you aren't fans of a couple of these choices.
Just give them a chance, that's all I'm asking.

and personally, I think you are great choices
for filling in the needed moderator seats!

First of all I will say congradulations to you all, I saw Chez had it under her thing and thought it was a joke but saw it was serious.

Though one thing, I don't want to sound like I am attacking your decisions but some of those people I don't see post in those sections that much I am sure you have your reasons but just a thought.

Heh, I assume you're referring to the ID forum? Well, that was one of my concerns as well. I have talked with each of these moderators about their positions. Some of them, such as OceanEyes28, lurk sometimes on the forums -- but at least they're here. Knowing that they're around is good enough, especially since some are ex-mods who have done this before.

I'm sure we'll be seeing a slight rise in activity from each of these moderators in the various forums which they watch over. As long as they can do the job, and make their presence known, I can't complain.

They're all active; that's what matters.
(Well, except for Spike, but his modship is different.)

Basically, you need to be an active member, and you have to ask Cesar or someone high-ranking to get in, I believe. Or have someone recommend you. Something like that. Cesar?
