why Odin doesnt attack.....anyone?

Hey guys, I just beat Odin and am trying to call him in battle, but as soon as i do he appears for a split second and dissapears, and nothing happens......
any clue why he doesnt attack? Does he only attack certain enemies?

If I remember correctly it only occurs randomly, it kind of sux but when he does work, it proves to be useful. I haven't played it in a long time so I may be wrong but thats what I remember, hope that helps

well ya i tried fighting against otehr enemies and it works randomly like u said, its very wierd.....but its not like im gona use him for bosses cuz i dunt think he will slash the boses in half with no HP damage.

From as far as I can figure, Odin only does an instant kill on enemies a certain number of levels below your average party level. Meaning, he proably won't kill many of the creature on the moon, but has no problem slaying some Imps. As far for specifics and such, ask Dawezy.

wyatt was right, it is partially random, but only occurs if your parties avg. level is above their avg.

Odin wont launch an attack if there is one monster on screen that is resistant/immune to the Death Status, which is what Odin throws out. For example say, there are 3 Imps on the battlefield and one Coeurl? he would be summoned but he was vanish straight away.

Sucks, but, thats how it goes.

Personally I think he should run through them anyway like they demonstrated in FF7, and attack everyone regardless of level or resistance.

Odin in FF3j kicked ass. I don't ever remember him vanishing a single time, and he was a godsend in the cave where the monsters split in half every time you attack. Heh, spam. We need an Odin thread or something, lol

Well odin is a bad summon if you ask me but in the lunar ruin level where there is a lot of dolls it works most of the times for me
