If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's the short version:
Gorillaz, who did Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc. and DARE, are not just an ordinary band. They were the first sucessful "cyber band" with carttons as frontmen rather than the actual band. In reality, it's a creation of Jamie Hewlett who did the "Tank Grrl" comics and Damon Albarn of Blur-both felt restrained in their medium/band and wanted a new project to express themselves in a new, meaningful way. Enough with the psuedo-intellectual banter, it's time talk about the band! ^__^ The characters are at once parody/stereotypical and yet original in . The dumb, literally blank-eyed lead-singer, the burned out self-admitted b@stard of a bassist (who is a Satanist, NOT the whole band), the token big black guy who happened to be possessed in the beginning and the nameless guitarist/child prodigy who had no memories of her past and spoke essentially no English (at first). Well things have changed just a little (as well as the art style) and Damon has semi-retired the band but let's just talk some more! So what's your opinion? Details, please! Oh, and has anyone ssen the Motorola commercial that was done with Murdoc? ("I can't talk... I'm n@ked hahaha...") Oh yeah-Fans will probably recognise both pictures and know what they are. (Pazazu the Gargoyle and the "Strange People")

Reading the character's background stories was kind of amusing. Mainly just the fact that Noodle was shipped to the states in a crate and how 2-D got his nickname. I've actually got a live recording (well, a live radio gig) and they talk in the character's voices. It's kinda different, though I must say that whoever was doing Russell's voice was simply terrible.
Again, 2-D was the funniest even though I'm not a fan of Damon Albarn at all.

Damon does not do the speaking voice. A man by the name of Nelson de Fritas does but nobody knows who the guy is. Phil Cromwell does Murdoc's, Haruka Kuroda (sp?) does Noodle and I forget who does Russel's. The guy is from East London, I hear tell though.
Here goes a few things through G-U: http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com/apextapes.htm http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com/thedury http://www.livejournal.com/users/gor...ws/112770.html The first two are in ZIP format but the third can be done through YouTube. 2D is mostly hilarious, as is Murdoc.
