I was after Zarnakand and Lady Yunalesca is quite easy job for me. Most of my quick hit for Auron and Tidus deal 9999. I kill her in no time. Anyhow, i felt something amiss here. Since Tidus and Auron deal a damage of 9999 about 90% of their attack, Overdrive for them is waste time and useless. Take a look at Tidus first 3 overdrive. Max limit is 9999. And Auron too, first 3 overdrive deal 9999 also (Not sure the last one. Havent get all Ject Sphere). So it;'s meaningless eventhough i perform a full right command on Auron. It still deal 9999. My single quick hit already cost 9999. Strenght for Tidus and Auron is both at 80-82 only. Both using normal weapon.
This leave me no choice only to obtain BHPL i guess. Somehow, feel strange with the system easy 9999 single hit.

What i am asking is, why is the Overdrive deal only 9,999 while normal damage also deal 9999? Why will we find all the Overdrive when it only deal 9999? Why do we need to level up our strenght when now already deal 9999? Why do we need Ultimate Weapon? Will Auron and Tidus Ultimate Weapon BDL? Is the only way is to obtain BDL is get Dark Matter?

Once you get the characters' ultimate weapons, you can break 9999 damage.

What you stated is also the case in many FFs. Not just X.

Usually the 9999 is the max damage capacity, but yeah, with the Ultimate Weapons, you can break that. ('tis what they are made for). Well, except for FF7, as far as I know.. you can't go past 9999.

DO u guys think that it's a bit too easy to get 9999 damag compare to ff8 and ff9. I remember there as easy as ff10 does. When ur physical damage already deal 9999, u will somehow feel useless for the overdrive. Take time, enter command etc and still deal 9999.

You don't really have to enter any commands for the overdrives in the other FFs.. except maybe Sabin on FF6. I mean, it doesn't take that much extra time. And besides, it's not like the over drives just hit once for 9999. They do combos of 9999, so it's not really a waste of time when you think about it.

Hell, Omnislash at 9999 rivals that of KOTR.

Err. i mean Overdrive for FFX for Auron (enter command). And Tidus first 3 overdrive. I nv mention 4th Overdrive for Tidus (Ace Blitz) as he did multiple damage.
