I don´t really understand the question.
You´re saying that at the end of the game you actually played with the recruits instead of playing with the chars? Well, my team consisted of all the plot chars and they all were at their original jobs at the end of the game. |

At the end of my game, I typically have Ramza and my 4 recruits.
2 Male, 2 Female, 1 Ramza. All Knights. Jump ability for Males and Ramza. Item ability for Females.

Way back when I beat the game I used Ramza as a monk with the ninja's two swords (so he would punch twice). Then Orlandu, Agrias, a white mage with teleport and time magic, and a black mage/summoner.

it's a pretty cool question...
the first time i beat the game i had Ramza as a monk with Two swords, AND sometimes changed him into a knight with Two Swords, really Strong! I also had like...3 or 4 recruits (don't remember). I had atleast one Monk, one Knight, a nother Knight and ofcourse a wizard with the "Equip Armor" ability. OH! And my monks and Knights all had the ability Two Swords. I don't remember, but I did use Worker 8 and Orlandu. Agrias seemed too weak to me, although she is tough when you get her, and gafgorion too...that backstabbing fool lol. Now, I just experiment with different jobs...

Hooray 1337 ninja death squad!!!
Waitasec... you're talking about FFTA... aww. I think it'd be cool to do that in FFT, but you'd have a bit of trouble with the white/black mages, as ninjas don't get much in the way of MP. My team these days tends to always be Ramza + 4 generics. The special characters are too powerful and make the game too easy (and thus not fun) in my opinion. I also tend to try to do characters that have one skillset from the squire job tree and one from the chemist tree, just because those characters tend to be really fun to play. As far as actually answering the question... while, I've gotten to the end of FFT a couple times... here are the parties I've used: 1) This was my first time ever, and I really didn't know what would be balanced and what would be too powerful. As a result, I used the party that just about everybody uses their first time through: Ramza: Ninja/Punch Art Orlandu: Holy Swordsman/Item Sorvez: Samurai/Jump Barbara: Calculator/Talk Skill Valerie: Calculator/Summon Magic I won with this party, but it wasn't terribly difficult. 2) Second time through, I looked at all the guides and tried to get the stuff I missed out on the first time. Ramza: Archer/Guts Beowulf: Temple Knight/Item Mustadio: Engineer/Time Magic Cloud: SOLDIER/Item Kyria: Chemist/Battle Skill I stopped right before the final dungeon, because this party was unbelievably boring to play. It killed just about everything in the first two turns of the battle (Break, Finishing Touch, lots of high-damage gun attacks). 3) The third time, I tried an all-generic party. I also discovered just how much harder (and more fun) the game becomes, as well as the fact that you can't just discount items and MP; as I said above, Ninjas have super-poopy MP, and this is when I discovered it. Ramza: Monk/Time Magic Wedge: Summoner/Throw (was supposed to be Ninja/Summon Magic, but couldn't due to afforementioned lack of MP) Biggs: Priest/Jump (was supposed to be Lancer/White Magic, but couldn't for same reason) Ariel: Geomancer/Dancer Holly: Samurai/Thief This party almost made it, but then they ran into Balk in Murond, Death City. After losing to him about 10 times in a row, I came to the conclusion that this party wasn't going any further. It probably didn't help that I hadn't been paying attention to my equipment, so after having a lot of my stuff destroyed by Rofel (including my Genji Armor ) I was using second-tier stuff to try to fend off Balk. Ohwell.4) This was my attempt at a FF6-themed party. Some people around here might recall my making posts asking for help with this one - it was really hard, but I eventually pulled it off. Locke: Thief/Guts Celes: Knight/Black Magic (Ice spells only) Edgar: Chemist/Jump (= awesome combo! Not kidding!) Terra: Geomancer/White Magic Shadow: Ninja/Battle Skill (= also awesome combo) I discovered a few neat tricks with this party, such as jumping with a spellgun (MASSIVE damage) or MagicBreaking with two weapons equipped (= completely zero out the target's MP). I also discovered that Knights make really really good mages, if you don't mind the lack of MA. I wanna try a Knight/Oracle some day, because it strikes me as a pretty sweet combo. 5) This is my current team. I decided to reincarnate some of my favorite older characters and give them another chance at getting through the game. Ramza: Mediator/Time Magic Wedge: Archer/Item Biggs: Monk/Basic Skill Ariel: Oracle/Thief Gogo: Mime/<nothing> Unfortunately, Wedge/Biggs/Ariel seem to be cursed. This party has been on hold for quite some time (~9-10 months or so) because I got distracted on other stuff and then lost the savefile. I know where it is, but I can't play until I get some technical difficulties resolved. |

Ramza: Ninja/Monk Cid: Holy swordsmen/item Cloud: soilder/knight Agrias: Holy knight/item Beowolf: temple knight/item It was really really too easy with these guys killing everyone in one hit Thats my most best powerful team. My normal team was funner to play with and all. But I cant remember my normal team

Mines had mastered both Black and white magic as well as Time, but was good in the Knight and the Samurai class as well. Ramza I think mastered the Summoner class after I got Zodiac.

For my longest running game (94 hours +) I think Ramza is a Monk, and I had a girl knight named Fran (coincidence?), a girl ninja named Kasumi, I think I had a summoner with white magic and a dancer i forgot their names.

*here we go,naturally youd wanna choose the main characters because of their special talents and unique job skills.but some of them appear way longer.in some of my battles ive chosen to stick with the original recriuts the game already provided with me,why?well its kinda corny,but ive come to have a personnal liking of the first party used.i fought with them in many battles so i couldn replace some of them with main characters even if they have more powerful abilities.so i started with this party line up............(...il just let my imagination go wild on the equipment cause i love to make up things...) *Starting party*,basically this is my starting and leveling party,i managed to level up to 99 in the beggining with the basic skills i got from squire job.the accumulate skill was very useful.and i use the chemists to heal wounded party members... *Ramza -Squire head gear-bronze cap,defense 15 armor- leather curiass,defense 17 shield- buckler,defense 10 weapon- broad sword,attack 30-44 accesory- leather boots,move +1 *Squire head gear-leather cap,defense 10 armor- bronze mail,defense 22 shield- buckler,defense 10 weapon- long sword,attack 35-50 accesory- colar,speed +1 *Chemist head gear-leather cap,defense 10 armor- leather armor,defense 13 shield- none weapon- silver knife,attack 10-15 accesory- leather boots,move +1 *well thats my first party,there are 5 members in a party but i only put three because there are two squires and two chemists in my first party so it would be a nuisance to repeat them again. *My party now,this is my party when i got to the final map and destination.they are level all level 99,i dont have the legendary equipments yet.im gonna look for them again when i start a new game cause some items can only be aqcuired in the earlier parts of the game. *Ramza-Ninja secondary skill- Guts head gear-shadow helm,defense 80,speed bonus +5 armor- ninja clothes,defense 85,speed bonus +3 shield- none weapon- blood nodachi,attack 89-97 weapon- hidden nosaiken,attack 88-95 accesory- wind jem,speed +10,dodge + 45% *strategy-i use him to power up allies with the accumulate and speed up skills.and i use his throw item skill to weaken enemies from a distance and pound them with doulbe attack when their close. *Lancer secondary skill- throw item head gear- grand helm,defense 105 armor- golden mail,defense 96 shield- tower shield,defense 88 weapon- moon lance,attack 89-103 accesory- dragon crystal,attack +15%,defense + 10,chance of block +10% *strategy- basically i use the throw item skill to weaken powerful enemies from a distance and devour them with apowerful attack and poach skill. *Monk secondary skill- throw item head gear- black bandana,defense 75 armor- diamond chain vest,defense 65 shield- none weapon- none accesory- ultima orb,power +25,speed + 20,defense +20 *strategy-i use him as a basher and a healer at the same time.his powerful bare hand attacks will pummel any enemy,i use his wave fist to weaken enemies at a distance and attack them when they are near.i use chakra to heal allies hp and regain some mp and i use revive to return fallen allies.this is my favorite job of all. *Orlandu-holy knight secondary skill- item head gear- divine helm,defense 130 armor- divine armor,defense 123 shield- heaven shield,defense 110 weapon- Excalibur,attack 150-170 accesory- holy mantle,defense +30,dodge + 15%,user regenerates 10% of hp in battle. *strategy-hes a powerful character on his own so i rush him to the enemy immediately,i use him to pawn strong enemies with the divine sword skill.i chose item skill on him to make sure allies are healed and revived 100%,rather than using the white magic which sometimes fails and gives less amount oh healing. *Agrias-holy knight secondary skill- item head gear-Gaia Helm,defense 95 armor- Gaia armor,defense 90 shield- skull buckler,defense 86 weapon- defender,attack 112-135 accesory- valkyries crest,hp + 30%,defense +25,speed + 5% *strategy-basically i use him just like orlandu,because they have the same sword skills.i use him as a secondary attacker and healer.i also use item skill on him to have a 100% assurance of healing and reviving. *well thats all and remeber dont look for the items mentioned above,i just made them up just to spice up the thread and because.... i just like to make things up ***HALLER BACK!!!*** |
