i have never done this minigame at all what do you have to do.

appartently my friend said once you caught 99 frogs you will battle the master qu and he also said you will get quina's best weapon as well is this true

Your friend is correct on the Master Qu part, and quite possibly the weapon part as well.
The main goal of catching frogs is to acquire better items, and also to increase frog drops power. with 100 or 99 i believe it's a guaranteed 9999, very useful for Ozma.
Basically all the game is, is to catch frogs at the Qu's Marsh's around the world.

When you start eating frogs, try, if you can, to distinguish between males and females.
One have red feet and the other have yellow feet, and always leave, at least one of each on each pond, so they can reproduce faster, otherwise, you'll be going around, waiting for the frogs to grow for a long time.
Sparing the gold frog helps, too.

The main reason for completing the frog catch challenge (for me anyway) was to increase the damage of Quina's frogdrop ability. You can only learn frogdrop in a Qu's marsh so te first time you go there be sure to eat the monsters to get the frogdrop ability.

Yep, I mainly did it because I wanted the Frog Drop ability to be higher. Other than that I had no real use for it.

Right, I didn't do that and it took a long time for them to come back.

when you catch enought frogs you get to fight Qinnas master Quale, its supposted to be strong.

True. The next time I play the game I'll complete that. My first time that I beat it, I just had her catch every frog from every Marsh. That was wrong.

What you're supposed to do is leave at least on male and female frog, then come back later and there's a bunch more.
