ok im starting a battle and you have to submit a profile to me with spells and downtimes like this |

magic: Fire: regular fire from like ffVII its my 3rd most powerfull attacks and can only be done ounce every 3 minutes
darkness: my main element has 4 varyations beam is the weakest and has only 1 minute downtime, punch can be done on the ground sending a wave of darkness out knocking over any one in a 10 yard radias, mist no damage but sends out a thick mist allowing only me to see through its down time is long like 10 minutes, dark surge allows me to turn into darkness long enough to ramm into someone or move out of the way really quick down time 2 minutes can can be easyly dodged, and last my strongest dark blast its send out a a blast directly in front of me very strong and almost impossible to dodge unless you use magic or and not exactly in front of me down time 5 minuts but majorly drains my energy so i wont use it much

Name: Mar Bailey

Age: 24

Physical Appearance: He stands just half an inch short of six feet and gives off the appearance of an athlete. His neck is thick and powerful and serves to hold up his gorgeous head. Atop a face with emerald green eyes and thin lips is a head of hair handsomely strewn about. The hair is a deep black that never seems to be kept kempt no matter how hard Mar may try to tame it.

Mar's chest is wide and gives way to a lean pair of arms and hands. Veins stick out slightly from his arms, but leave enough to the imagination to decide just how strong Mar really is. His legs bulk out and give an air of a strength to reckon with.

Attire: For a shirt, Mar wears an open black vest littered with small pockets. The vest zippers up, but is usually open to air out the polluted air underneath the Midgar disc. He wears a deep blue pair of leggings with more pockets than his vest. His boots are black and laced up with grey string. Around his left wrist is a black wristband and around his right is a silver chain with a small pendant. He wears a chain necklace identical to his bracelet.

Personality: Laid back and always acting casual, he gives an air of never caring until he forced to. Though he usually does care, he never wishes to portray his true feelings on any matter unless almost forced to do so. Beneath his facade, Mar is actually a very caring and empathetic person. He is very in-tune with his surroundings and usually has his head down to earth.

Weapon: Mar carries a long pole with him as a weapon. The weapon is barely shorter than him, and he must strap it diagonally on his back in order for it not to drag. He is very skilled with it and can parry most weapons. Depending on the enemies, he may be able to take two on at a time with it.

Spells: Wind Blade-a sharp blast of wind that does little damage but also has a very short downtime. Many can be casted simultaniously, but the spell serves as little more than a distraction

Tornado- A large vortex of wind that travels a very erratic path, sucking everything along its path into its tunnel. Though a very strong spell, it also has a very long and unfortunate downtime. A lot of energy is needed in order to cast it, and a lot of energy needs to be regained afterwards.

(ooc ill intro but you attack first)

Sevion walked directly up to the man "so... you the Mar i've been hearing so much about. well.. you don't look so strong i bet i could take you down in an instant and still have enough energy to take out your entire family."
Sevion circled Mar with his blade in hand. "this will be the end of your life this sword signifies death and pain. I feed off of it." Sevion held up his hand and a ball of darkness floated on it. Then sevion glared at him waiting for a reply

Mar smiled at the simplicity of the mind of the man next to him. How juvenile it was to believe that the only things that mattered in life were the things that took away from life. Such hypocrisy in such a futile attempt at a search for truth could and would only end in failure.

He surveyed his surroundings. They were in the middle of a city, and buildings were everywhere. Alleyways were positioned in between them all, providing many corners to go and run to. Mar liked corners. Corners were good. There's only one way out, and it's through your captor.

Mar spun on his heel and faced his enemy. He raised his eyebrows and smiled as wide a grin as he could manage. A look of confusion came across Sevion's face, and Mar took the opportunity for what it was. He swung his pole hard into his enemy's side, knocking him off-balance.

From there, he stuck his pole into the ground and swung around it, delivering a kick to the same side of the man's body, knocking him even farther off balance. Mar landed on his right foot, shifted his weight to his left, and prepared his staff to parry the counter.

Sevion regained his balance and through a ball of darkness at Mar's chest distracting him. Then he pulled out his sword and ready an attack. Sevion realized that the staff he had could easyly counter any of his sword's attacks.
So Sevion found his only weakpoint.... the feet. Sevion held up his sword like he was going to attack and started running towards Mar . As sevion got withen five feet of Mar he jumped and slid at his feet then ramming into them causing Mar to fall over. Sevion then got his sword up a got ready to stab Mar in the chest...

As the sword came slicing through the air, Mar spaced his hands far apart on the staff, and drove it towards his face, knocking the sword back. The driving force from Sevion's stab attempt brought him forward onto Mar's raised legs. As he fell forward, Mar propelled him backwards over his head onto the ground behind him. Using his momentum, he continued to roll backwards, standing up and straddling Sevion on the ground.

After a moment of a contemplating his next move, he stepped off to the side. As he looked down at Sevion, he smiled at a face that was glaring back at him. Just moments passed and he already had the upper hand.

"I do hope you've decided not to fight to the death?"

[Sevion]

" i wouldnt say that i want to fight to the death but one of us will end up dying anyway." Sevion got up and smiled as a dark mist covered the entire area. Sevion could see the confusion on Mar's face as he dissapeared into the darkness. Sevion walked up behind Mar and shot a beam of darkness THrowing Mar downward.

As Sevion ran towards the defenceless enemy put his hand on his sword but held up his right hand to trick him and it worked because the second Sevion was in slash distance his swung his sword make a fresh cut arcross Mars chest.

(OOC: Sevion, please start watching your grammar. It's incredibly difficult to follow along with your posts. I also don't see how raising your right hand would confuse someone, but I'll go along with it.)

A blow this hard to the chest would have bothered Mar if it was his first; maybe second. But after everything he'd experienced, such a thing was no travesty. It hurt like hell, but it was no travesty. Ignoring the burn for the moment, Mar decided he had more important things to worry about.

Sevion seemed to be gloating over his successful attack, but never took his eyes off of Mar. He took another chance at landing a slice, but instead of hearing the sound of skin tearing and blood dripping, the sound of metal on metal echoed among the buildings.

People are going to be watching us soon enough. I'd rather not be fighting in the middle of a crowd.

Mar decided that it was time he took the offensive. Positioning his hands two feet apart, he began to swing the ends of the staff over and over at Sevion. Echoes upon echoes reverberated through the streets, and lights were coming on one by one. Each time Mar swung up and right, a defensive counter attack was shot out down and right. Each time he tried to strike down, a counter was shot up. Several hits were made on Mar all over his body, but none of them detremental enough to stop him.

For several moments, it didn't seem as though either man was landing anything on the other. Sevion decided to play a trump and take his chance at landing a strong vertical swing. This was what Mar was waiting for. He stuck out his staff, blocked the blow, and slid his right hand towards his left. As soon as his hands made contact with each other, he swung his pole hard into Sevion's rib cage, this time reverberating the "thud" of metal on bone.

Hard though the hit may have been, it did little more than once again stun his enemy. The opportunity was too good for him to pass up. He charged towards Sevion, stabbing him in the xiphoid process and knocking him backwards. Cocking back his staff, he jumped up and leaned hard left, swinging himself and his staff full circle. The staff hit hard against Sevion's shoulder; too low.

He stuck the end up his staff back into the ground, and swung around it again, but hitting Sevion too low again. His foot made contact with Sevion's hip, knocking him farther to the side. He threw out blow after blow to Sevion's torso, hitting him harder and harder each time. After a solid hit to his left bicep, he moved his hands together again towards the left side of his staff. He swung in a circle again, this time hitting Sevion in the small of his back. Pavement is not a comfortable surface to fall face-first on to, as Sevion was currently experiencing first-hand.

Oh, for the love of... Sevion, stop godmodding or I'm going to close this.

The rules state that you're not allowed to control the other character. "Sevion walked up behind Mar and shot a beam of darkness THrowing Mar downward." That's obviously an instance of you controlling Mar, and that's not allowed. There are a handful of other godmodding actions such as this one, and it would be really great if you'd stop.

Lai Lai Hei, you've just done the same in your post as well. If you want to control each others' characters, go to the roleplay forum. This is a competitive area, and controlling your opponent's character is not allowed.

Then having an RP battle would be incredibly difficult and take far too long. If you wanted a post to be long, you would have several paragraphs of what the scenery is and how your character feels, and then you would have one sentence of your attack. And thus would follow for every single post. I've been doing this now for a while, and this is the way I've always seen it. If it doesn't adhere by your forum's rules, then I'm sorry, but neither of us are complaining about it, so I don't see any reason why anything should be done about it.

Well, if neither of you have a problem with it, then I'll leave you alone... just please remember in the future, it would be nice to note non-rules battles in one of the first posts. That way, I'll keep my nose out and you can do as you wish. Sorry to intrude if that's the case. ^_^;;

Sevion got up of the pavement with a sharp pain running up and down his spine. "Alright... that hurt but not as much as this will!" Sevion turned black and shot towards Mar, ramming into him with full force. At this point Sevion was not expecting a very good defence and knew that he could pull of a move with his sword if done in the next few seconds. The back seemed sufficiant and would leave just enough room for another attack. Sevion took the dull side of his sword and smashed it against Mar's spine. Mar fell to the ground in pain. Then he jumped just above Mar and making a solid slash at the chest then jumping off his the wound about 10 feet away.

What is it with this guy and making slashes across my chest? Doesn't he think I've got enough scars as it is?

Lying on the ground, Mar tried to make it look like he was suffering as badly as possible. The more he milked it, he thought, the more Sevion might believe that he really was hurt. Clutching his chest, he moaned over and over and tried to wipe up the blood seeping out of his wounds.

Sevion slowly approached him, cautious not to make any mistakes. He cocked his sword, ready to make the final blow. This, however, was not how Mar intended to die. As the sword began plummeting towards his face, Mar shot out a wind blade, knocking the sword out of Sevion's hand.

Sevion's eyes followed the sword's trajectory, but couldn't watch Mar at the same time. By the time his sword hand landed several yards away, Mar had already finished gathering up his energy for his next attack. He raised his hands up in the air and clenched his muscles; if it weren't for the giant vortex reaching down from the heavens at that moment, it would seem as if Mar's muscles were clenching up in his last moments of life.

As the vortex touched down, Mar rolled backwards up onto his feet and ran for cover in an alleyway. The tornado started out small, hardly looking menacing. As it travelled erraticly through the city, however, picking up little and large things alike, the funnel began to grow at an exponential rate. Soon enough, the tornado was large enough to block out Mar's entire line of site.

Up in the wind vortex, benches, tables, lamp posts, and even dumpsters were seen being thrown about. Sevion was nowhere to be found in it all. Content with his alleged victory, Mar let the tornado die down. To his surprise, however, as the wind died down, a figure stood holding his sword on the other side.

"You missed!" he shouted out.

With a smile and a tilt of the head, Mar's only reply was, "Yeah?" as one of the dumpsters came crashing down a yard behind Sevion. "Look up. What comes up...must come down."
