REAL "Satanism" (An honest question)

I realize that several times, Satanists have stated a number of beliefs, but for the sake of all, I am just going to ask those that really know about their beliefs. I have read part of some of what Anton LaVey's wrote and find it incredibly fitting to my own beliefs as a Pagan... but I want your words. Your feelings. Your opinions.

Show me who you are in essence.

EDIT: Though the name of the book was wrong, it was an Aton LaVey book I read.

Well, I don't really know too much about Anton LaVey, but I do know Aleister Crowley:
"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law". I think that's a pretty good interpretation of how Satanists feel and what I think like.

As for Paganism, my Step-mother is Wiccan, so I understad a lot about which you speak. I think morality is artificial and imposed on us by those in charge as another form of control, to keep us blinded as to what we can truly be if we set ourselves free. I think most true Satanists feel that way as well.

If you'd like to be a true satanist, and not cult satanism, but the religious satanist, then read up on Anton Levay, you hit it right on the head. His foundation is the place to find true Satanism.

Well...

Satanism is the belief that you yourself is 'the God'. Things happen because you make them happen. Like... if you wish you had a million dollars, you would end up through your whole life with a million dollars, maybe not all at once, however, but throughout the course of your life you would have. Satanism is also, as some people think, the whorshipping of the devil. This is accurate as well in some respects, but it's not true Satanism and it's just what is put off by other religions, namely Christianity.

Wait, so Satanists believe God doesn't exist but Satan does? The only supernatural power you are willing to accept is the power in the Bible that will be destroyed?

Thank you. What I mostly gather is that Satanists mostly worship the dark side of nature and that they believe power/Magick comes from humanity..... if that is so, I am more of a Satanist than a Wiccan.

I have no clue. I have never met a satanist that was any different from anyone else. They just live I guess. Some I have talked to say that believeing in the devil is just a gimick, and they really just live an let live, but I am not a satanist.

I have to agree with Tomstrife. I mean... you deny the fact that god exists, yet some acknowledge that Satan himself exists?

But... Satan was actually an angel of God or something like that until God cast him out... so God only existed to cast Satan out of heaven? Now he's kaput?

Could someone clear that up for me? I actually wonder about that anytime I see/read/hear something about Satanists.

Let's clarify something:

SATANISM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BIBLICAL SATAN. As $Nanaki$ pointed out, it is a philosophy (not what I'd call a religion) above all else in which you live life as you see fit and nothing more.

And please this philopshy crap is getting old. The Old Testament was written far before these documents.

So, I am assuming my assumption of you worshipping Satan is sheer ignorance then? (Honest question, not sarcasm).

If being a Satanist is nothing more than living life the way you see fit, then why do they call you Satanists? Wouldn't they just call you Liberals?

quite frankly if you believe (and beleive being the key word) in some kind of god and / or satan and you waste your lives trying to please them etc then in my opinion you are wasting your life

you see i have an idea that there is a greater being or something that created us/this planet etc, but i dont try to pin point it down to being a man which is extremely arragont that people believe humans are shaped after god (could be true, but i doubt it)
so i have an idea about ther being some kind of creator but i dont believe it and a certainly dont change my life to adere to it

just live your life in a good way.
