Final Fantasy XIII

Holy shit. I know you guys saw it today and if you didn't, head over to Gamespot or Cain Highwind's news thingy.

Though there isn't much, what do you think about what we know so far? I'm super interested in the XIII series that SE's working on. What do you think we should expect?

After seeing the short teaser, I'm not really sure what to expect, it so didn't look like any previous FF but it looked interesting and I hope to learn more about the game soon.

Where is the Video? I wouldn't mind seeing something similar to FFVIII, I dunno why but I am reminesing (SP) about it and remember how much I liked it. So what is said about it? I hope they dont make the main guy a fag like Tidus and the douche from XII, guess I will have to wait and see.

The main character appears to be a female, but not another Yuna. She seems like she could be a bit more of a hardass. It looks really good.

My fault, I didn't read the post. From the looks of things XII is more closer to VII so I wasn't surprised to hear that this is similar to VIII, well either way I am looking foward to both of them. That girl looks cute btw, hopefully not another stupid Yuna.

I doubt that she is. She looks like she'd be a hardass. Hopefully not like Paine, though. Paine's cool...but I don't ever want to see her in a video game again.

Well the trailer was rather short so I kinda am unsure right now. Though from what I saw it was esthetically pleasing. I have no idea who's on her team or how pretty much anything is, but so far it looked okay. And she does look more cold, like a Cloud type character, she didn't look like she was enjoying herself at all. But so far I'll say it looked good, but we'll just have to wait and see.

I was going to merge this with the S-E coverage threads but considering how cluttered the PS3 thread got, maybe having ONE seperate thread might not be such a bad idea.

Well its nice to see the FF's moving in a more 'modern' vein again. Thats what I liked about VII and VIII...they were futuristic while retaining something of the magic of the more traditional RPG's. Having said which, as of now I feel a little more confident about FFXII as compared to FFXIII. I KNOW Ivalice, and while its just the same old stereotype characters, I think it'll be a solid game once i get my mind around the new fighting style.

Looks like FFXIII will have the same fighting style, unfortunately. On top of that, a female protagonist hasn't even really been hinted at in a straight FF game since FFVI. (I don't count pop laced spin offs)

Anyone else notice the girl uses a 'true' gunblade and has a hauntingly familiar scar across the bridge of her nose? Or is that just the crappiness of the trailer?
(I make the annotation of 'true' gunblade because the gunblades in FF8 actually just resonated in the chamber and caused the blade to vibrate as it struck while the gun blades that will be used by one of the bosses in Dirge of Cerberus actually have a functioning gun portion)

While I am loading up the Trailer I would love it if it had a love story in it where the lover ends up dying and stuff like that. That stuff really gets to me!
