The manga is a lot different in terms of the storyline, but if I would choose between the two of them, I'd have to say I like the anime, but the manga is really good too, it's just really hard to follow.

I've never seen Fooly Cooly except the
last part of the last episode which I was able
to catch as I was skimming through channels late
one night.
After that, I've been thinking about getting a hold
of a copy. The animation looks really good, and I
checked out a copy of the manga at Borders one
day, and I was inspired by the artwork! ^^

That show is very funny. Every episode was worth watching, so that made up for it only having 6 episodes.

Got the series and 2 novels of the manga. I dont think there were any more mangas. The ending theme, "Ride on Shooting Star" by PILLOWS is amazing. I love the mini balck cat in it, jumping around randomly on the screen, so cute

*Starts singing Ride On Shooting Star* Hell yes I liked that anime. I always wanted to be a psychotic alien girl riding around in a deserted rural like town on a motor bike with my guitar... The manga I'm not too much of a fan of, it's great but it doesn't bring as much excitment. The whole show was completely random, even Ride On Shooting Star by the Pillows doesnt make any sense... Of course that's what makes it so lovable!

Character designs were done by the immortal Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, the same guy who did character designs for Neon Genesis Evangelion and .hack//SIGN. This was also the first digital animation from Gainax, and graphically it's so gorgeously fluid and colorful it's orgasmic.

While I refuse to give spoilers, let's just say it seems kinda random. However, there is some depth to it... just might take some time to pinpoint. The humor is ace, it will definately give you a laugh or two with some of the crued sexual innuendos. And the characters seem to have pretty down to earth personalities, save for Haruko.

Sound: 10
As far as dubs are concerned, it's pretty so-so. The music on the other hand, performed by Jrock band The Pillows, is absolutely masterful. It's just so upbeat and mellow it will unconsciously make you dance like a fairy.

Violence: 4
Not very violent at all, so sqeamish folks have little to worry about.

Overall: 9.5

In conclusion, this has been my favorite Anime since the day I saw it for the first time a couple years ago, and I doubt my opinion is going to change anytime soon.

Noway in fucking hell is it the best anime of all time, nor could it be classified as one of the best. It was pretty neat, but it was just way too short for my liking. It was over and done just when things were getting good. I liked the scene where they're on the bunk bed. Horny boy >
