X-Men Evolution
Remember this show? It was a good animation. I remember this show with all the X-men but some of you were probably to young to remember this show, and now you can buy the series on DVD. Don't forget to butter your pop-corn individually, and I suggest watching this show in the day, unless you like being scared in the dark, just bring a few friends over.
I love the one episode (with Brenden Small) where that band comes over and the main singer dude was wearing a purple bug costume "He is Franz Kafka!" That was an awesome episode. |

Are you talking about the spin-off where all the X-Men were in high school? Maybe I'm thinking of something else. I remember seeing it on KidsWB every Saturday morning a while back. As with most of their other programming, like Mucha Lucha, I turned off the TV before the opening could finish.
More like X-Teens, snarfle snarfle snarfle. |

"Some of you were probably too young to remember the show"? It was airing up until, like, two years ago, of that much. I don't think it's that old. If you're talking about the X-Men show from the '90s, however, that's a completely different (and better) story.
X-Men evolution wasn't overtly bad, though. It got better towards the "end" (but it never really ended). They introduced Apocalypse and it started getting decent...and then it died. -_-' Like I said, though, if you're talking about the slightly older X-Men show, though, that one was amazing. ![]()

Yeah, I think they're talking about the original X-Men cartoon, which is very good. Made by the people who made the comic, I think.
And X-Men Evolution was -not- scary at all... Nor was the original. ..How old are you, EonZ? If you get scared that easily, you must be pretty young. ...Or else you just scare easily. =P

That's because it ends right before then. I don't think they even have those episodes. >>;
If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if they're released on DVD-only as the 'lost episodes' or something.

SSJ4, I really don't see how you can say the X-men show was better then X-men evolution in terms of story. They both have their unique ways to attract audiences, tbh most people now adays wouldn't give X-men a second glance, the story goes to blain for the amount of episodes that is played while the X-men evolution one has "drama". X-men has drama.. but it's not something a average child or teenager can relate to in interest, there was much more action and story but to much of a good thing turns sour. Yes I know X-men evolutin was cancelled but it still ran about 3 seasons? (52 episodes ran for almost 3 years) So people must have liked it for a while, even though its predecessor ran 5 seasons. Many people have different tastes but the X-men evolution show was an attempt to get the young back into X-men. Any money says if they aired the 90's X-men again it would get canceled the first season. As time changes so does the taste of the people, I myself wasn't exactly old enough to appreciate the effort put into X-men the 90's, although I have seen it again when i could uder more words then my parents could comprehend and my opinion of it really hasn't changed. The show is to blain. X-men evolution wasn't the greatest either but it had more moments for me then X-men the 90s version. All these opinions are probably infuenced through the fact that i grew up in a different era but eh it's just what I think.
ranma, even though i did put down both shows in a way, THEY BOTH ARE STILL MORE APPEALING THEN 90 PERCENT OF THE CRAP ON TV TODAY. Last edited by nullifier; 05-18-2006 at 11:03 AM. |

I hated the 90s X-Men theme song.
Here's how I feel, the 90s X-Men was targeted at young children who could not handle much violence or intense situations, and X-Men Evo. was for the older crowd that wanted something a little bit more dark and thrilling, with plenty of action and violence to go around. |

X-men Evolution was undoubtebly a good show. Nightcrawler was a great character.
But I feel it was aimed too much at kids. In a typical episode one of the Teenagers would experience some small problem. I.E ( Having to ask someone to the dance), there would be problems,misunderstanding,Toad and the other comedy villians would attack and it would all be resolved.Fantastic, I could watch rugrats for moral messages. The originial 90's X-Men was for more adult, that dealt with death. Real family problems and didn't have comedy villains, ones that when they all combined they could win. Take Apocalypse who's ass couldn't he kick in that series? Also it gave some good backstory, like Wolverine's and Omega red. Overall I enjoyed it much more. |

I enjoy all things X-Men but that's because I love comics in general.
To me X-Men evolution is the better series because its reinvented the X-Men in a way that will attract the younger generation of fans to the series, like its name suggests, it is an evolution, from a much more comic based traditional X-Men to one that is modern, both are great, but in bringing in new fans, they're prolonging the life of X-Men fandom. |
