Sounds like an opportune time for Andro to get his ass in gear and beef up our FFXI content to the extreme... we can pull all those premium ppl off their site and onto ours... ^_^

I don't like the smell of the whole thing. IGE didn't technically buy them, their parent company did.. but still, IGE and alla are now considered related no matter how you look at it. The left hand might not know what the right is doing, but they are still part of the same whole. What that means for the site is anyone's guess. I fear that it will become more about money and less about helping people. Alla was synonymous with large quantities of free help for MMOs... now it might end up being yet another website you have to pay to read any tutorial or guide past the first five sentences.

Hey, I am working on it, though I am currently waiting on the go ahead to start content addition from Fuzz, he got a really cool new system for me. It has me really excited because the way it sounds I will be able to do larger scale additions in a quicker time. I already overloaded him a little with the 500+ pages of content I gave him in my last update.

But IGE and Allakhazam, isn't IGE gilsellers? Or am I just imagining things? Because Allakhazam does not support that sort of thing, especially selling of accounts and other illegal activities.

A lot of Alla users are understandably pissed. I really don't know if we can continue to rely on Alla for game help. Guess we'll just use MysteryTour and SomePage.

Yeah, I wish we had our content up higher, we could start pulling in all of those disgruntled Alla members that will be leaving their memberships behind for being associated with IGE. It is a pretty stupid move on Alla's part since at least on FFXI, gilsellers are hated with a passion. Once everyone learns about this on the FFXI section, and the FFXI community gets things around fast, that place is going to be dead because people will probably boycott Alla on principle.

Yep, and then Alla's gonna be kicking themselves in the nuts. Or they might start charging people for the priveledge of using a bat, just to make money again. XD

This should be more encouragement for people to join my FFXI staff and start bringing our content levels up. We will not be matching Alla anytime soon in content, but with enough people working together, we can make it an important source for FFXI, especially since we are all anti-RMT as far as I know. I see RMT banners in the google ads and have asked Fuzz about getting them removed, but no much luck. But I do not support it and as long as we maintain that stand, the people will come to us since they will be leaving Alla.

Surprised that KI hasnt been touched tho, its just as big, if not bigger, then Alla is now and has a more intelligent userbase.. that being said tho we should probably start some item pages, or, shit, I dunno - we could get creative.

They say it is Zam.com that's the one buying Allakhazam, not IGE. Zam.com just happens to own IGE.

We are now owned by a company that owns a bunch of stuff, including IGE. They bought both of us (and several other sites as well) and then split us into separate divisions so that there is no interaction between them. You know my stand on gold selling. Before agreeing to anything like this, I wanted to make sure that there would be no interaction between those divisions and that I would have complete control over the new network, including the sites that used to be part of ogaming. So this means that the Ogaming sites and Thottbot have been split off of IGE and into our network and no longer have any connection with them.
