Seperate KH Room

Do you think there should be a seperate room for KH? I do, its such a good game! Man no KH Room

Room? If you are refering to a Forum, then it already had one. However, it never produced enough activity to keep it a float even when it was merged with Chrono Trigger. Though since there is a new game and it has a lot of nasty things to fight and get advice for, it could possibly do to have a forum for it.

I'd have to agree. I don't know how it went before, when there wasn't enough activity to make it reasonable to keep a KH forum open, but I think, with the new one, there should be. At least, probably a little more activity than some of the FF forums, I'd think. I don't even play KH, but I think a KH-designated forum wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course, since I don't play it, I'm not gonna post in it, and I really have no say ... but if you're asking for ideas, I'm for it. If it works, anyway.

I like the ideas. So much, in fact, that I will go ahead and implement them right now.

I will create a separate forum solely for discussion of KH and KH2. When it dwindles off, however, don't be surprised if it ends up merging back into General Gaming. The section will be a subforum of the existing General Gaming forum.

Give me a few minutes to catch up on things, and you'll have your areas.

(Bah, think of all the threads I'll need to move!)

Well I can help move all of the threads over if you have not done so already. I mean that is part of my job, you do not have to do everything alone. Besides all I am doing is playing Kingdom Hearts 2 at the moment anyway.

I go give a look see to the General Gaming forum for KH threads.

Well searched down through all of the General Gaming forum, I found 20 some odd KH threads. There were far more than I realized. A lot of them were Cain announcing news. So anyone wanting to post in those threads, you will probably need to reset the defaults that are of the forum. Just go to the bottom of the forum here for KH and it will say 1 Month in one of them for how far back to grab threads. Change that to the beginning and confirm that action. Then you will get all of the threads that I moved over. Since most of them fall outside of the one month default range.

Actually, the default thread view for all gaming forums has now been set to "See all threads" -- I changed that last night, and it's no different for this new subforum.

Well that makes things easier now. I had it set to default like that a long time ago, this makes it better for a lot of members who have the tendency to forget that there is a history of threads around the forum. It does encourage necroposting, but at this point I think we can handle that.

Wouldn't it maybe make sense to have an "Other Square-Enix games" forum with perhaps a couple of the more popular SE games having sub forums like KH does now?

That way we have all the FF sections, a section for other SE games and a section for all other games.

Just a suggestion.

And a very valid one at that. I'll keep an eye on General Gaming and see what happens with the trend of Chrono games, Dragonquest games, and other SE titles to see what kinds of threads they're getting as well as how many.

Unfortunately, at the current time, I think KH is the only series with enough activity to warrant its own forum, but we'll see if things change any time soon. As I mentioned earlier, this new KH forum may dissolve back into General Gaming if it dies off again.

(We had one before, was completely dead. We also used to have forums for the Chrono series... also completely dead.)

Won't the discrete location of the threads make it hard to find and therefore almost definitely lead to inactivity? At least that's what I would think would happen. Just seems the most obvious trend.

I personally find it difficult to miss a big section labelled "Kingdom Hearts," but you certainly aren't mistaken about that trend. If this section suddenly dies off, I'll try moving it out onto the main forum index, and see if it makes any real difference.
