Aerith or Aeris?

It's your opinion what matters, many people are still calling Aeris by her old name and claiming it to be her true name. What do you think? Aeris or Aerith?

Interesting topic... I remember seeing in a lot of things her name being showed as Aerith, and I was like... wtf? But Im used to her name being Aeris, and I like that name better. Not only that but I think Aeris is a prettier name than Aerith.

Well as far as i have been playing shes been Aeris. Apparently Aerith was a typo or visa versa, can't remember. Anyway, I also prefer "Aeris". Reminds me of the starsign Aries, but spelt differently.

If I remember correctly Aeris was an ancient and Aerith was her old name or something (it's been years since I played the game), I thought of her as Aeris and thats what I voted.

Aeris is what she was called in the US, European, etc releases.

Aerith is what she was called in the Japanese release.

In a sense, it's the other way around. It all comes down to the Japanese pronounciation. To say "Aerith" in Japanese the "th" is slurred into an "S".

I still call her "Aeris" mainly because it's the name that made me so fond of the character in a way. Kind of like Yuffie, which I always interpreted as "Yuh-fee" kind of like "Yuppie" or "Puppy" it wasn't I started picking up Japanese that I learned her name is (in the Japanese case) "Yufi" pronounced "Yoo-fee". Unlike Aeris though, I call Yuffie the proper name now (although it was still weird hearing it spoken in KH)

I agree. Aeris sounds better than Aerith. Its easier to say too. Aerith gets my tongue into an uncomfortable position.

i dont like Aerith that much either. aeris is so much better. However, I don't really like aeris anyway lol. always found her weak in the game =)

Well I played the game knowing ehr as Aeris not Aerieth. I liked the way her name is, but a little bit after I beat it I saw how some people called her that instead. Either way I'm just used to what I know and what I've said and used so overall I'd go with Aeris.

Yes, that's what I heard too. I call her Aeris because that's what they use in Final Fantasy VII. I know they call her Aerith in KH but I still call her Aeris. I'm used to it so I keep it that way. Haha I know people who call her 'Aires or Aries'. I think Aeris sounds better than Aerith anyway lol.

I prefer Aeris. I don't know where the name Aerith have come. And name Aeris sounds much better than Aerith. It's harder to say that Aeris. But yes, I prefer Aeris more than Aerith.

First of all, the name was suppose to be Aerith. But they wanted to see what it would be like Aeris. This is what I have heard. I am not 100% sure that is the reason why they made Aeris Aerith, on KH.
