remake of ffvii for the ds

Right now i heard a rumor about ffvii being remade for the ds wat do you think?

I think they will though. Square-Enix just won't be able to resist milking FF7 for even more money.

It will likely be released on the PS3 if it's remade, you know, to please the graphics whores.

well even if they do remake it for the ps3 theyll have to make it for the xbox360 because microsft bought squares rights

No, Microsoft did not buy Square's rights. I already said this just yesterday in another thread. Microsoft bought the rights to have A GAME and some PORTS for the X360, but that does not in any way shape or form mean that they now control Square-Enix...

But anyway, if FF7 was remade on a handheld, I'd say it would be for the PSP. But it'll probably be remade on the PS3 for the reasons I stated above.

No no, the rumor is a legitimate one. Not legitimate in the sense that it WILL be done, but legitimate in the sense that Square-Enix did actually mention this sometime last year.

Shortly after the release of the DS, Square-Enix was talking about how it would be POSSIBLE to port (note: not the same as a remake) FFVII over to the DS because all of the coding already exists for the Nintendo 64. They would simply have to transfer data into the existing structure, brush up some things, and voila! New release of an old game.

It won't happen for quite some time, if at all, though.

Yeh, it might not be remade/re-released on the DS, but I'd bet my life on the fact that they will remake it.

Holy crap! That just reminded me of something.

The FFVI SGI demo (the one that eventually became FFVII on the PSX). I just remembered in that game which featured a basic battle program with Locke, Terra, and Shadow against an enemy.

Well in the program, I remember that they used specfic mouse movements to carry out specific actions (they noted making a star shape summoned Bahamut). Gee, there isn't another system that could implement drawing shapes is there....

It is true that there is going to be a DS FF game though right?? I mean they did it for GBA so it would make sense to put one (maybe more) on the DS. I wouldn't mind if it was a VII remake or not though. It'll just be the same as the PS version really.

A new FF would be awesome though. I'd like to see how they cram all the data into one of those tiny cards though. That would be some technical genious.

there saying 3 will be for the ds 5 and 6 wont and i hope they make 7 for the ds
