A treat for you Old Skoolers... My FFII Town cover!

ok, as some of you might know or not know i'm a musician. i play guitar and sing in a space rock band blah blah blah... but what i really love is synthesizer music. Analog, software, piano, whatever - keyboards are the ****ing shit, and my "solo" work or whatever is pretty much all synth/piano.

Regardless, i'm doing a series of cover EPs - the 3rd in the series being called "Towns" and featuring newly arranged versions of my favorite town music from 8-64 bit RPGs throughout the years. this include FFII, 2 towns from FFIII, FFIV and FFV. I've only just begun, by covering my favorite of the lot - the FFII town music. Long have i thought this song had IMMENSE potential when it came to how gorgeous a bunch of synth pads could make it. So i've finished a rough mix (it might be a little loud at points) and i thought i'd share it with all you old skool final fantasy fans out there!

Keep in mind i didn't rearrange a MIDI file or like sequence each note. Each track is a true performance, not some time-corrected bullshit. I believe in the power of a passionate performance. I also added my own little theme to compliment Nobuo Uematsu's chilling chord progression during the last rotation. In case anyone is interested here's the tracklisting for the EP:

1) Town - Final Fantasy II
2) Town - The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
3) My Home Town - Final Fantasy III
4) Town - Chronicles of Sorrow I
5) Town of Water - Final Fantasy III
6) Town - Dragon Warrior II
7) Welcome to Our Town! - Final Fantasy IV
8) Kakariko Village - The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
9) Town Theme - Final Fantasy V

I've started work on "Town of Water" from FFIII, besides that this is the only one i have done, so it might be a while. I've also gone ahead and attached the cover art for the EP as well. Anyway remember that it's a rough mix, and please let me know what you think!

I really want you to make some midis from both ff3j and 2j as their music is way underrated. If you could post links to your music that'd be great! ^_^
