iPod / iTunes / MP3 Help Thread
Ok kids. A lot of us have ipods and other mp3 players these days, so why not a help thread?
Just a thought, because I need help... Anyone know how to copy my entire Itunes library, and put it on another computer as well? (Without actually putting it onto an assload of cds, its like 12000 songs ) Basically, a laptop to laptop transfer. I don't want to lose anything off either computer, and I can't seem to find the process in my manual.... Lemme know if anyone can help. Thanks.

Ok... 2 new questions... again w/ the ipod video....
Is there any way to put a DVD of mine onto the video? I want to bring my Matrix films w/ me, but I cant seem to find a way to do it. It may not even be possible... Q2 ) Scratches - Anyone know how to get rid of the fine scratches on the screen? Hell, you blow on it and it scratches. LOL Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the scratches, either get some sort of scratch solvent thing, or.. perhaps you're just screwed anyway.
And as for the movies, I perhaps would presume that you would rip said movies to your comp, and then transfer said video files into your iPod. My cousin puts anime into her iPod, so.. I figure you could rip, then transfer. (And no, that wouldn't be illegal. =P)

hey i'm just wondering how do you take out the music?
you know like put it on a diffrent comupter because mines not realy letting me do it,all it dose is put it back in the file... Some help would be nice.

well for MP3 players I just go to my computer and there should be something for you MP3 player there. that where I add and remove things frm just by coping, cuting and pasting

Anyone know if the new iPod nano's (2nd generation I believe?) have any kind of iHack or homebrew capabilities? I know it's no PSP or DSLite, but I thought it would be cool if there were some developers out there making some applications or other uses for the iPod than for what it's meant for

You should be able to take out the internal hard drive and put it in an enclosure kit and thus turning it into an external drive. Though the iPod is already capable of functioning ass an external drive and even as a bootable drive for the Macs.
There are 3rd party hacks and homebrews that lets you run linux on the iPod, play Doom, as well as play 3rd party games. Other, more legal approach includes creating text contents such as the Bible, Wikipedia, cookbooks and mix drinks recipes. Since I cannot link directly to illegal materials, you're going to have to find them yourself.

iPod users: Anyone have the problem where your iPod can only turn on my using the reset feature? IE: select + play? Mine has been doing this since about a month after I got it. it's the 30 gig video, so it's relatively new. I slept listening to it one night, and when I woke up I wa son top of it, but I don't weight a lot and it seems pretty durable so I always rulled that out.
If anyone knows how to fix this, minus sending it in and taking advantage of the warranty, I'd appreciate it

Have you done all the updates on it?
My 60gb video suffered the same problem, until I did all the updates to it. Problem solved.

What kind of updates are we talking about? I don't think that there have been any notices on my computer about updates for an iPod, but the itunes yes...if that is what you're talking about. Which one is it? And if it is the iPod, where do I go to access these updates? Thanks guys
