Kaena:The Prophecy
Plot:
Axis, the "tree world's" life is in danger. Its sap has almost all run out and its people's efforts to implore the gods, are in vain. Kaena has strange visions and she is convinced that Axis is calling her for help. Kaena, a young girl with the heart of a rebel, will defy her tribe's taboos and the Grand-priest's supreme authority. And so begins her dangerous journey to Axis's deepest roots. She is helped by a mysterious creature from another world. The frightening truth that Kaena will discover at the end of her quest will profoundly change her forever. I was very impressed by the movie both visually and the between lines thing. The characters are beautifully designed, their reactions are realistic and even human, despite of the fact not all of them are human. The structure of the story line is well builded and keeps the watcher interested all the time. The human and unhuman communities in the movie perfectly reflect our own word. We have four types of characters : 1) The slaves. They are blind and limited, accepting the bullshit that rules upon them in a sheep like manner. They are simple and partly primitive, relaying on the will of the gods. 2) The rebell, It's an open minded person who wants more in his life and thinks for himself, tends to explore and to see the world in a different way then the others. 3) The rulers wanna be. That community uses everything and everyone to reach their goals. They threat, cheat, kill in order to rule. They like to control everything. 4) The loner. He watches from the side, collects data but doesn't does more then this. He doesn't care for the primitive tribes. Only a drastic event may pull him out of his warm nest. In that moment he'll have to deal with the real world, something that he's not so fammiliar with. All of above meet in a complicated dance of fate, each trying to survive. But there's more then a simple survival. http://cine.publispain.com/PELICULAS...e_prophecy.jpg |

I've read a few revies on this and if anything this movie is far from good. Just telling the story of that feels so cliche'd I'd choke on the mere sight of the movie. It may not be completely terrible, I'll say that, but I can tell you that the medicore look and sound of this really makes me gag. I'm sure it had some beautiful scenes, but the characters you speak of, the storyline all sounds like garbage you'd rather rent for a laugh. I love CGI, I love sci fi fantasy shit, but this sounds like something the Sci Fi channel would make for the hell of it.
Hell I bet I could predict the storyline itself just watching it for the first time. Kind of reminds me of FF SW, which was also pretty laughable. Sorry, just my 2 cents. Some people will probably like it, but this wouldn't compare to any CGI movie out there.
