Final Fantasy XII Released In Japan

Final Fantasy XII has been released in Japan for a little over a week and has already sold more than 1.7 million copies! in just ONE week.

Here is a table of the top 10 selling games in Japan right now.

This is surely good news, but how come Europeans always have to wait so long? It shouldn't be the case that you have to wait six months extra for a game to come out because of where you live!

This just goes to show that Japan loves Nintendo.


To be more on topic, however, Square-Enix only printed two million copies of the game... they're going to sell out in a day or two, methinks. I certainly hope SE is busy pumping out new copies, or the fans are in for a major disappointment.

Dragon Quest sells out in the first day or pretty close, and so does Final Fantasy games. SE is pretty used to this, so they will probably have a new shipment in to stores soon. I mean if they are like the US in any fashion they release on Tuesday or a specific day. So they probably send out shipments weekly, especially at the beginning.

It selling 2 million copy is not a surprise. What I am curious about is how high it is going to go? Will it beat FFVIII in highest sales? And how will it do in the US?

im still surprised that FFX had sold more copies on its first week than FFXII, hmm i wonder if that will be the case once it hits the US?

The Dragon Quest series does better in one week than Final Fantasy. But I think that this Final Fantasy should do a very high number. I figure since this is the last FF for the PS2 that it should be able to beat the previous FFs. But then again maybe not. Because VII still is the best selling of all time in the series. RIght?

My guess is it will sell great...but then they'll be people who rant about it, as always. Or my favorite:
