I know we all hate Gil/Gold farmers but we also hate telemarketers too. Both are simply people doing their job. Here's an interesting clip of these people working.

That's just crazy! I don't think I'd want to play games for that long all day. It may be fun at first, but after about 2 weeks I think it would be like... eh!! Playing through WoW again!

I couldn't imagine doing what I do as a hobby for a living.
It seems the most.... logical, I suppose? Killing two birds with one stone, so to speak. Playing games AND making money, but I honestly think if I was playing at a rate to which I needed to make money or gain items, I would quickly lose interest. However, for Chinese people with nothing else to do, it gives them food, income, a place to sleep, ect. Yeah, it screws with the economy, but it's not their fault so much as it is the fault of the people who buy the shit from them.

In a wierd way I kinda feel sorry for them. They honestly think they are doing something good for the gaming community by doing this. They think they are doing us a favor. Yeah, to lazy-ass bums it is definately a favor, but to those of us who are honest and play fairly, it makes it a bitch because the economy is hosed up.
What's sad is the living conditions shown on that video might seem bad to us, but they are good by their standards I believe. But I also think that video is slightly biased. I havent seen too many gilfarmers out there having a good time playing the game. Every one I have seen was an asshole who would continue to steal mobs from you even after you have tagged them... even going so far as using hacks to override ownership of claims. I fail to see how that is helping the community. |
