Where is the Guide Book?
I am trying to find the Guide Book to trade in the town of Kalm for Underwater Materia. Does anyone know where the guide book is located or any of the three items that you can trade for the underwater materia?

Go to Junon and into the underwater reactor. Here you will find a pirate ship that you battle (cant remember its name) and fight it until its weak, then use the "morph" command to turn it into the guidebook.
As for the other two items, the desert rose and the other thing, they are won from beating ruby and emerald weapon, but they trade for master materia (the one from emerald weapon) and a gold chocobo (the desert rose from ruby weapon). Hope that helps!

No, only disk 2. When you go on the reactor mission in disk 2, when you go to the underwater reactor in Junon is the first time you can get it. If you fail to get it then, you can return anytime later in the game.

And I'd advise having Yuffies Conformer before hand and equiping her with the Morph materia. Saves time and trouble. the Ghost Ship is a rare monster that ONLY appears in the underwater tunnel. It has a low encounter rate, however, and you're likely to be fighting a mess of sawblades before you even catch a hint of the Ghost Ship. It may be an idea ot have mroe than one character equipped with Morph materia as it has an ability that eliminates one member of your party from play. (much like the Midgar Zolem, Barrets hammblow limit break, or the 'Exit' materias Remove spell)

When you trade the guidebook with a man in Kalm, who is on the second floor of one of the buildings. He will give you the underwater materia to battle Emerald WEAPON.

This will remove the 20 minute timer so you don't have to worry about drowning when fighting the WEAPON.
I've heard a rumor (UNCONFIRMED) that if all of your party members are able to execute the "All Lucky Sevens" attack it will deal enough damage to kill Emerald WEAPON withint 20 minutes, so you don't need the Underwater Materia. I've never been able to get all my characters at 7777 HP at the same time, so I can't say if this will work or not. (I really hate to spread false rumors but it sounds plausable...) |

G to the sunken Ship in the ocean make sure you have the Morph materia equiped and then enccounter an enimie named ghost pirate ship or something like that then morph it and it might take a few tries but if you scan morph it successfully it will turn into the guide book. This is the only way you can obtain it.
