It is hard to say at this point, I know a lot of people have just been making assumptions. I do not know if SE has announced anything on what Espers are going to be in the game. But I know of two, unfortunately they are either new Espers or ones I have not heard of from past FF games I have not played. One looks a lot like Ifrit the other is completely unknown in similarity. But I figured like most FF games they will keep the basic and make some new ones up.

First of all, this info comes from Gamefaqs, so the info may be part of an elaborate hoax (though the videos are quite real to be hoaxed...) I leave this to your discretion. You've been warned.

So, apparently, these guys already know which summons are going to be in the game, since they already got the JAP version. Sadly, there's no Ifrit or Shiva, not even Bahamut. Instead, you get exactly 12-13 summon monsters, based upon a series of former final bosses and regular bosses. The first 12 summons are based upon the Lucavi from FFT, and the Totema from FFT:A, each representing an element and a Zodiac sign.

All the Lucavi from FFT appear, so you get Velius, Zalera, Hashmalum, Altima, Queklain and Adrammelech. Velius is the Ifrit-like character, and is Fire elemental. Zalera apparently repersents death. Hashmalum is Earth elemental, Altima is Holy elemental and apparently can cast All-Ultima, Queklain is Poison elemental, and Adrammelech is Thunder elemental. Since the Totema returned, that means Famfrit, Mateus, and Exodus (X-Death) are also summons. The rest? Chaos from FF1 makes a return, and so does Zeromus. The last one is a bit of a mystery still (those people call the summon Shumihaza). The 13th summon is none other than Elidibs, the 13th Lucavi, Serpentarius. Not sure about the new names, though, since they have been upon a bit of speculation about the names.

Since the info seems to be recollected bit by bit, the above info should not be taken completely serious, but rather with some skepticism.

Sounds cool even if the information is only a hoax. You never know it might just be true.

It would be awesome if Shiva, Ifrit and even Bahamut were in it. They are the regular summons/guardian forces and it wouldn't be the same without them. I would prefer the classic summons over new ones. It would be okay it there was so many older summons and so many newer ones, as long as they put a few of the older summons in it! It would be interesting to see how they have decided to do it. Can't wait until the game is released!

The old summons are being portrayed by way of airships.

Alexander, Atomos, Carbuncle, Catoblepas, Ifrit, Leviathan, Remora, Shiva, Strahl and Valefor are all used for big shiny air thingies. I dunno where Bahamut went to.

There are pictures, somewhere...in my pocket.

There we are.

i have a question... but it doesn't particularly have to do with this forum... and people more than likely will be like "well, why don't you find one that has to do with your question?" and i say "shh, i tried sirs and ma'ams." does anyone know if you can name characters or summons, and have the people in the game actually say the name you name? that'd be cool.

I don't believe so. I know that in FFX you can name them anything you want, but I don't believe that you can have the characters say those names. Technology isn't quite that far yet. Maybe someday when that text recognition voice software thingy is perfected, you shall be able. Regardless, you are correct in saying that it would be a cool feature.

Lady Ambika - Good find. Alexander is beautiful.

Well I'm cool with the FF Tactics summon names of the Zodiac Monsters, that's a cool twist on there former evil forms. I don't really like FF TA but the Totema's were cool.

Not too keen on the airships though, I think they look awfully gawdy and futuristic. It's a little over the top for me, but it'd be cool if they made an FF/Star Trek type game some day with like battles against rival worlds in the airships/spaceships. XD
