Virus scan
Does anyone know of a good free Virus Scanning program?
I think I might be in need of one, I would buy one but I do not have the money for one. Much thanks. |

Buuuut lemme think dont remember the name......*thinks* Ahh its called "spybot search and destroy" Just go to google or yahoo nad type search and destroy in the search line. Then they'll pop up

Yeah. Avast is good. There's also AVG. But uhm.. I have Norton 2005. I didn't spend money for that, though. But yes, try as Plastik suggests. I've used it and it is pretty good.
..Or you can just get a Mac. (j/k)

DarkVivi, Spybot is an adware scanner, not virus scanner, though both are important.
I myself have used Avast for the past two years and it's kept my system virus free. As for adware/spyware, I recommend Spybot, Lavasoft Ad-aware, and Spyware Blaster. Using all three of those will, for the most part, ensure that any adware/spyware is caught before it installs itself (sadly, you have to pay extra for Ad-aware's real time scanner). If you do contract any, using Spybot and Ad-aware in Safe Mode should be able to catch everything.

Indeed, Hijackthis will give you a list of any non-default registry entry and if you go a little deletion crazy, you could hose up your system entirely.

Well, I went and got that avast! scanner...
Man, I must've clicked "Move to Chest" at least 500 times, and that is not an exaggeration. Thanks for all the link/help. |
