Would film a movie in 1.85:1 or 2.40:1 aspect ratio?
If I were a filmmaker, I would shoot or render films in 2.40:1 (sometimes known as 2.35:1 based on old convention). 2.40:1 is the original aspect ratio of the Star Wars films.
My favorite 1.85:1 film is Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Final Fantasy movies are rendered in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. My favorite 2.40:1 film is Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
