Server Issues

Some may have noticed that your posts have just disappeared over the last hour or so.

My host has moved TFF to a temporary server while I optimize all database tables and delete unused PHP scripts... apparently we are using a 'high' amount of server usage. they are trying to convince me to go on a dedicated server, but I dont have the money for that quite yet... so I will be doing some tweaking to the SQL queries and other PHP optimization around the site.

Sorry if you lost a post or 2... I know it is an inconvenience, but we're trying our hardest to get this all aligned. I may even close the forums for an hour or so to give the server a chance to sync with the new optimizations.

Shutting down the forums temporarily is a good decision, if you ask me. That way, we can sort everything out, delete the old stuff, and refresh the new stuff.

I believe it is safe to reopen the forums now. TFF is still on a temp. server called 'Sputnik' but I was assured that all activity in the forums and site will be transferred when they do move me back to our initial server 'Helium'

I've optimized all tables and did many PHP upgrades. Thanks for being patient guys. However, the main site doesn't work on this particular server, so I will keep the main site closed until we are moved back later tonight or early tomorrow.

Haha, damn, so much for the site itself. I know a lot of members access the forums through the site, so... I guess they'll just have to wait until tomorrow, unless they get the wise idea to actually try going to the forums directly.

Oh so that was the problem, I'm not sure if I should say it is a problem, but I was worried about TFF.
