Are there any albums you consider "perfect?"

I have very few albums, that I could ever consider perfect, and while I do give a good amount of albums 10/10, very little of them ever are flawless.

The three albums I find to be 100% amazing, are:

Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element
Tiamat - Wildhoney
Solefald - In Harmonia Universali

So, what are your perfect albums.

Kasabian-Kasabian: due to each song being really well crafted and how they blend into one huge, metamorphing masterpiece

Maximo Park- A Certain trigger: due to each song being like a chapter, unwinding through a tragic story of coping with lost love.

Blur- Best Of: just because it gives me so many memories from the 90's i practicly grew up with that band, so each song has a different memory of my childhood.

Appetite for Destruction- Guns n' Roses
This is one of my favourite albums of all time. All the songs on it are awesome and are great to rock out to. Some of the songs on this album include 'Welcome to the Jungle', 'Sweet Child O'Mine', 'Paradise City' and 'Nightrain'. I consider it perfect. I find myself listening to this album a lot.

The Beatles 1967-1970
This album has some of the greatest songs on it. I have been listening to this album a lot lately and I never get tired of hearing it. It is very enjoyable. It includes songs like 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds', 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', 'Hey Jude' and many more classics. I would definitely give this album a 10/10.

I honestly don't believe that there is such a thing as a perfect album. There's always something that they could have done better. The albums that come closest in my eyes are:

Kamelot-The Black Halo
Blind Guardian-Nightfall In Middle Earth
Iced Earth-Burnt Offerings (If Barlow did the album, I would have easily said Night Of The Stormrider)

OK Computer - Radiohead
Waking the Fallen - Avenged Sevenfold
Watch Out! - Alexisonfire
The Siren Song of the Counter-Culture - Rise Against
Load - Metallica

I think we should exclude 'best of' albums in most cases, since those are compilations, rather than the works intended for only one album.

I agree with both of you on these points.

Anyhoo, there are a few albums that I consider to be absolute masterpieces, and the closests to perfection as any can come (also being my favorites of all albums):

Brave Saint Saturn: The Light of Things Hoped For... With an overall tone of melancholly, with a note of hope at the very end, this CD blends together very well, and is good to listen to all the way through. It also has some of my favorite, most inspirational songs.

Five Iron Frenzy 2: Electric Boogaloo This was probably their best album. It may not have had their best song (Every New Day) but all of the songs on it were really good. "Farsighted" and "Juggernaut" were my two favorites off of this album. Even their b-side to this album, "Kamikaze," was an awesome song.

Smashing Pumpkins: Melancholly and the Infinite Sadness This is just an overall really awesome album. "Tonight, Tonight," "Zero," "Bullet With Butterfly Wings," and "1979" aside, this album had it all. From the fairly hard "An Ode To No One" and "Tales of a Scorched Earth," to the softer lullaby type like "Beautiful," to the strange, such as "We Only Come Out At Night" and "Lily (My One And Only)," I love it all.

Now that my infomercial is complete...

Radiohead - Kid A

perfect. from beginning to end, a revolutionary (for its time) mind expanding ambient rock extravaganza. subtle cryptic lyrics, massive soundscapes, heartbreak, passion, intrigue. nigel godrich. period.

Well comments first:

I disagree with whoever says Alice In Chains - Dirt, and please...look at my user title here, I'm a huge grunge fan. Only reason why it's not a perfect album is because of that stupid 15 second track Iron Gland. That is so stupid and it's just noisily irritating. But other than that, I love the whole album, not to big on Angry Chair either, it gets old fast.

I think Metallica Load is a stretch. I liked the album and alot of the songs on it. However Ronnie and a few other tracks like 2 x 4 are just sub par in my opinion. I loved The Outlaw Torn, The Cure, and even Thorn Within, Bleeding Me is one of my fav songs by them. But I tell you, the album is no perfect in my opinion. Close though.

I agree with whoever said Smashing Pumpkins: Melonchollie & The Infinite Sadness. That is incredible, every song is good and I can listen to it back to front. While To Forgive and a few others are like...what?? The album still is off the charts as far as musical experimentation.

.................................................. ....................

You won't believe my answer, as you'll surely be expecting something else. But my vote for perfect album all time is

Stone Temple Pilots - Core - in my opinion this album did everything right. Even the stupid tracks like No Memory and Wet My Bed were both really cool. No Memory was a nice instrumental and Wet My Bed is some trippy sit down chat. This damn album had like 5 friggin singles and the whole damn thing was awesome.

Wicked Garden
Dead and Bloated
Plush
Creep
Sex Type Thing

^ All of those were played on the radio, and the rest of the songs were just as good.

Crackerman
Piece of Pie
Naked Sunday
Sin
Where the River Goes - easily my second fav song all time from this band.

Just about everything on the album is remarkable and even a freshman effort they show an excellent variety of skills from an epic song on the last track to a crooning moan in Creep to a radio friendly rocker smash with Dead & Bloated.

I loved it man, it was just perfect.

I completely agree with TPE on the list; however, that isn't the best choice for Solefald. Although I can't say any of their albums are "perfect", if it came down to a choice then it would be The Linear Scaffold. In Harmonia Universali doesn't feel varied enough as the album progresses; however, Dionysify This Night of Spring is still one of my favorite songs from them.

There's a few albums I think atre perfect, here they are.

The Beatles-Abbey Road

Metallica-Ride the Lightning

The Who-The Who by Numbers

Every song on those albums I love to listen to. I have a couple others, but I'm not counting The beatles 1 as one, since it's essentially just a greatest hits.
