What story line should Square make in the story in the next FF8?

I hope there was no topic about this yet anyway I think the story line should be about Ultimecias' past and also showing what happened to Squall and Rinoa and also the orphanage gang.

I think I chose this because I wanted to know what happened to Rinoa and Squall I think Square left that part hanging, they didn't tell us what happened to the main characters after that.

I realy hope there is a part 2 of FF8.

You and me both--if there could be a FFX-2, why not a FFVIII-2?

Don't get me wrong. I would love more to do with FFVIII. I was devastated when I finished the game and realised there was nothing left for me to do with everyone. I just don't know what could be done to make another story. Everything I think of just seems so tacked on.

I reckon the best storyline for Final Fantasy 8-2 would be the Rinoa/Ultimecia thing. She becomes evil and you end up having to defeat her at the end. I know there's no real proof of her being Ultimecia... but it's a cool storyline!

You could have a different main character or you could keep Squall. Maybe you could have Quistis as the main character or something.

Well I honestly don't want there to be a sequal to FFVIII. I thought it was to perfect, and that nothing could really make it any better, and adding another story to the mix I think would only make it less enjoyable. But if there had to be a sequal and I was asked what i would want as a possible story I'd want this. i'd like to see it maybe a few years later on, with the same old group. The differance though, would be that I'd like to see more of the people, like Edea and Seifer. I like them and think it would be better if they brought it more to life. For the story I suppose they could be at war again with someone else. i don't think a sequal would ever happen, but if I had to throw out my opinion that's what it would be.

Tell that to the creators of FFX-2. Believe in the Rhino/Ulti thing, there's the ticket. And use the choice of players like Seifer, Quistis, Selphie, even Edea and Ellone, each with a different reason for beating ol' U-gal, aka Rhino, sort of like Saga Frontier, in which you get several games in one, thus ensuring a lot of replay value.

Kiros and Ward were Seifer's major generals (Kiros was KIA). Quistis, Zell, and Irvine all helped the Resistance. During the course of the war against Rinoa, a cadet from Balamb, Joe, helped to bring Squall back to the dead, who was used to create the ultimate GF: Leonheart. The GF was later destroyed by the Resistance. Now, Seifer and Squall led the now-strong Janus Army, but not without casualties. Quistis and Joe's friends were killed in a space battle. Zell was also injured, able to survive via a wheelchair and robotic implants. The army, with the help from many people from many lands fought hard against the Rinoans (The Rinoans managed to bring Quistis back from the dead, turning her into one of the Rinoan soldiers; brain-washing her). Irvine and Selphie were killed in an attack on Trabia, led by Quistis and the mysterious general, General Flinn. Flinn, was out to capture Laguna, who knew the key to the ancient GF. Flinn managed to unleashe the ancient GF: Lucifer. Flinn had been under the control of Diablos. Once Diablos had Lucifer, they molded together. Flinn was released from his mind-control in the process. The Rinoans and Janus had to team up to stop the GF, who wanted nothing but chaos. Krem, an Estharian, helped them, by developing a high-tech cannon to destroy the GF. Lucifer was destroyed, but the truce ended. The war continued, but, eventually, Rinoa was slain and the war was won.

Well, I say if that did'nt make a good Final Fantasy VIII sequel, nothing would.

At first I was reading this thread and thinking...well why not make a friggin part 2 to everything now. But then I thought, what the hell, were just brainstorming here.

I loved FF VIII but am anti-sequels for FF games. However if this is there new kick for the next 10 FF's, to make them all sequels, that would be kind of cool. One for each game or something.

For FF VIII I think it would be neat to take it from a different perspective. Edea retires and all the children go there seperate ways. Seifer, Fujin and Raijin are your main characters you start with and under Cid become the head commander and soldiers for the garden. Squall had given up his post to seek seclusion after his wife Rinoa left him unexpectedly for no reason 3 years prior. A new terror arises in the land and Seifer and the group go to seek it out. Then during the trail and adventure of the story you realize that for some reason Ultimecia or another sorceress has taken mind control over Rinoa and she's causing all the havoc. Kind of like a "who's the real villain approach" like FF Tactics. Then Seifer runs into Squall while Squall is searching for Rinoa and the two fight side by side to bring Rinoa back and then you go after the real evil of the game.

I dunno, there is alot more to flesh out, but somehow bringing Seifer back in and him and Squall and some of the others if you want would be cool and a different approach to things.

I dont think that they sould build off of the Final Fantasy VIII story line.... In the end I t would only be destroying everything that final fantasy Viii is..... Ooh and for the record the end of the game was not a clif hanger... After the credits it shows Rinoa and Squall still both very much alive kissing on the balconey of the Mobil garden, and I interpereted it as pure tranquility. In the end I think they lived happily ever after ..........lol.....

Yeah, I have always wanted a Final Fantasy VIII movie. I would still want Squall and Rinoa to be the main characters though. I wouldn't want Seifer or anybody else as main characters. The plot of the movie could be what people have spoken about for a sequel..where Rinoa turns evil. I would love to watch that.
