Another spinoff on PS3?

I saw some previews for PS3 games yesterday and there were some scnes involving Cloud. So that means there's gonna be ANOTHER spinoff of FF7 on PS3...really, popular as the original game may be, isn't it enough with the spinoffs by now?

That was a Tech Demo made by Square-Enix showing the capabilities of the PS3.

Though it wouldn't surprise me if they did do something with FF7 on the PS3. Most likely a remake.

a remake would take just as long, if not longer than a sequel. i don't know why they would do that. however, this topic has about 3 threads going right now lol.

I think Thaleil is talking about spin-offs like how kingdom hearts includes FF characters or Dirge of Cerberus featuring Vincent. Instead of making a new FFVII I think Suare-enix is moving more towards using the characters and storyline from FFVII in other games.

Actually I'm pretty sure that Cloud and many other FFVII characters appear in Dirge of Cerberus. Are you certain that those weren't just cut scenes from that game?

I dunno much about this, but I swore I read somewhere that the pictures from the E show or whatever were simply sample pictures of what the game would have looked like on that system. As I heard there were no plans of remaking the whole game in PS3. We can all agree that it would look incredible and the pictures prove that, but still, I don't think they have any intentions of redoing it.

Too much work, might as well make a new game. I could be wrong though.

Yes apprently it was only showing PS3 specs as compared to the PSOne, though honestly I don't see much difference between them and the PS2 specs. Not really.

I think that for the most part they won't make a REMAKE of FF7, unless that's what Crisis Core is for the PSP. Still no word on if thats a port of Before Crisis or if tis going to be a completely different game.

I have seen the tech demo and it was pretty good. I think that if (and I sure hope so) Square would do a remarke off FFVII it would be the best game ever - it has the best story already, why not the graphics. I know I would play it...

Final Fantasy VII is one of my favorite games of all time, but I don't need a remake of it. I can just...play it now. Sure the graphics are more blocky than a Lego man's fecal matter, but that doesn't matter much really. It's about the gameplay and the story, plus One Winged Angel and it's MIDI greatness.

But...would I buy it? Probobly. I'm just that much of a FFVII whore. That is why I don't want them to make a remake, because then I'm just going to have to spend the 70 bucks on it.

that would be cool to play ff7 for ps3 because u would get more into the game due to the graphics beacuse the tech demo was awsoooooooooooooome heres the site u can watch it if u havnt seen it i reccomend u do if u like ff7

Still, you have to consider that they never officially ruled out a remake. They said that they didn't want to completely denounce the possibility making me come to the conclusion that something concerning a remake or a possible sequal is up for discussion.

Well you have to consider that they are barely even skimming the possibilities of the system. They have not even started really playing around with it yet. I mean PS2 graphics were not that great at the beginning either, however, after gamemakers tested the limits of the system, they spawned some great results.

there summat in the ps mag of last month that states that FF will definetley be carried on to the ps3 but also they are 'thinking' of remaking FF7 as it has been proven to be the most popular FF game to be produced for PS

OK theese are the facts. Square have spoken.

*They ARE going to remake FF VII for PS3, they DO NOT know WHEN it is going to be released, but it is not a question IF it is WHEN.

*Also they have said that if it is a sucess (in terms of sold copies) then they MAYBE gonna remake other FF's for PS3. Square also wish for that to happen.

Actually, it was the full intro from FFVII redone to show what it would look like on the PS3. I wish I had the link to where I saw it, because it was floating around on the internet awhile back. It looked really good.

I personally hope that they do remake FFVII for PS3, but I also hope they just eventually remake all of them in time. I'm not trying to bash old school games, but I personally would enjoy them more if they were brought up to current times.
