Valentione's Day

To everything there is a season, and the time to tell that special someone how you feel is drawing near. Valentione's Day will soon be upon Vana'diel once again!

Valentione's Day commemorates the story of a courageous squire named Valentione, who fell in love with a noblewoman regardless of their gap in social status. He confessed his love in the form of a gift, and succeeded in stealing her heart.

On Valentione's Day, the inhabitants of Vana'diel show their feelings by giving the person they care about a present, such as chocolate.

Still, it can be hard to confess to someone...
Someone you are so used to seeing...
Someone you always enjoy conversing with...
Someone you always adventure with...
That's why that person is special, right? But it takes a lot of courage to take it to the next level!

And that's where the moogles come in to help! They have devised a plan to bring eligible bachelors and bachelorettes of the three major nations together. Not only that, but they even claim that their fantabulous, splenderrific event (the moogle head planner's exact words) will help adventurers come together, too!

If you've ever wanted to try your hand at playing Cupid, you will get your chance soon!

One last word from the Mog House Management Union (M.H.M.U.): "We're waiting for you all with wonderful prizes that will let you show your love forever and ever, kupo!"

What exactly does that have to do with FFXI, if anything? In any case... I wonder how this event will work. Sounds like a mix between the Halloween one and the gift part of the Christmas one. Or better yet.. what if anything useful will we get out of it. LOL!

Yeah, it sounds a lot like the Christmas event going around trading things. I think what you get is a heart shape item that goes around your waste or maybe acts as a weapon, because I saw a strange item on the characters in a couple shots. I wonder what they mean by non-adventures though, maybe mules or NPCs.

But yeah Valentines gets me depressed as well, not having someone to share it with. Though that too is another matter. Oh well.

I am a sucker for event items, like most people.

I'm a sucker for event items as much as anyone else, but if I have to put up with the bullshit they put in for the dream robe, I'll repeat my actions there and say to hell with it. <.<;

Running around trading stuff that have no use other than for looks is boring. We need another Trinkling Treant event. I was on hiatus during the time the event was opened and I was unable to experience it. ; ;

And yeah Skai, those events are boring as hell. I usually say screw it, but I wanted at least the base outfits for Christmas, because tarus look so damned cute in them! The +1 items were crap. I got the Dream Hat +1... wasn't hard. Maybe thats why it was so crappy.

I'd rather do events where you have to fight something or do some sort of mission. Mindlessly trading items with greedy people who won't give you the item back when they are done is not my idea of fun. Plus... the spam. Did I mention the spam? Sure, you can block shouts.. but then again, it blocks all the important ones too.

I happen to like the trade quest for the starlight festivel maybe its becuse I had alot of free time on my hands ^_^.But that Valintione's day thing sounds like fun I have a spacific girl ive been adventuering with that id like to give a gift to.

Heh.. maybe you can get your NPC to fall in love with you... now THAT would be priceless.

Yeah I do not know what it is that draws in the people to post in a thread that is in the FFXI Forum. I guess that they just see it in the new posts and do not think of where it is located. Oh well, thanks for the alteration.

NPC falling in love with you, lets just hope it is not a Galka, I do not need that sort of love. Sort of a smothering type of love. Well as usual do not expect a great item out of the event, SE never gives us something that could be extremely useful to our jobs. Though they have come close on a couple of times, the eggs mainly is probably the most useful item from an event next to the Warp Staves during Halloween. Though the +50 Enmity would be great if it was not useful once in a blue moon.

The whole point of special events are just for fun. I don't really expect a useful reward. Though the Trick Staffs and Red Sash were handy at low levels. Same for Dream Hats. Free Ginger Cookies everyday. I used mine daily and by the time I started messing around with my mages, I had 3 stacks of Ginger Cookies.
