I can say three things that will be very helpful to you in life:

1. Saviour Machine, amazing Gothic Metal band, that is extremely Christian. They have a series of albums about Revelations, and on their first album a song praising Jesus.

2. The Christian God does not exist, never has, never will.

3. Grammar and correct spelling ARE your friends.

I love religiously themed music. As long as they include religious themes in their music in an intelligent, thought provoking way. There's nothing worse than overly preachy Christian bands or insanely stupid and ridiculous "Satan roxxors Jesus soxxors" black metal bands.

My favourite Christian band would probably Trouble. Excellent and groundbreaking doom metal band with some very solid guitar work and well written lyrics.

Place Of Skulls is, or rather was unfortunately, another great Chrstian doom band which even had Wino on guitars for a while.

and no matter their religion, no Thrash metal fans should miss out on Tourniquet.

I think Living Sacrifice was good in their death metal days but now they're just a run of the mill metalcore band.

I might have to look in to Sir David and Sir Kenneth's recommendations (you might consider doing the same A Tree), when it comes to music they usually know what they're talking about.

Thank you, I needed someone to clarify that for me. Especially since it's in a list of numbered sentences. That makes it ten times more legitimate. Hey kids, all theological discussions on the Christian faith can now be put to rest, because Sir David has spoken. In a topic about music, no less.

Anyway, I like Zion Rock as well. Are you into the ska scene at all? Five Iron Frenzy was pretty sweet, although they're done now. They had really well written lyrics, however, for the most part, that a lot of the secular crowd enjoyed, as well, evidently. The Insyderz are fairly cool, too. They had a bit of a rap-rock thing going on, at times. They also got fairly preachy/worshippy at times, though, so...

I really like Switchfoot a lot, too, but they aren't really heavy at all. They're really mellow on some songs. If you want a Zion Band that has fairlly clever lyrics and a varying sound, I would recommend All Star United (that is, anything before their newest release, which kinda blows. It's the black and white one. Don't buy it. Can't remember what the other ones are called... just get their best of, probably.)

Oh yes, and for a fairly heavy industrial sound, I would suggest Argyle Park. If you can find anything by them. I've never really seen much of their stuff around in stores...

Wuv, Yer Mom

EDIT: Oh yeah! Tourniquet. I haven't really heard much of their stuff, but my friend played them for us one time, and I would agree that they do kick ass.

Even as a non-christian, I can tell you that if you like alternative, a good band to check out is All Wound Up. Their music is pretty good, and doesn't sound cookie-cutter like much of the genre does these days. A good album to start with is "Hero."
