Pink Tail?
Uhm, I've been trying to get the pink tail for a while now, with no luck thus far.
Has anyone tried at it? Has anyone here gotten it?... Anyways, I'm in a good spot right now where I saved the game right before the pricess flan appears, so I can turn the game off and keep encountering them. However there was something I heard about not being able to find the pink tail until your party reaches the level of 90+. Does anyone know if that is true or not? I am still in the low 60's... |

From what I know, it's just random, but very rare. If you have any Sirens, use them, and just keep at it.

I think the pink puffs only drop them, if u look in your bestiary, no flan will be able to drop the pink tail. As for the lvl 90 and +, i don't think so.

If you recall, the drop rate for the Pink Tail was at a lovely 1/64 per Puff.
Now bareing this in mind, there is also a 1/64 chance of encountering a Pink Puff pack (without the Alarm item, that is). Adding these 2 totals together would get you; 1/4096 >.> Good fucking luck, really. ![]() In my FFIV career I have never been able to successfully snag a Tail drop off those Pink bastards so I resorted to Game Genie codes for them.. sigh, its shameful I know but for the sake of experimentation its all good.

Yes and no. It's for each Pink Puff, as you said, not per battle with a set of Pink Puffs. So if there's a 1/64 chance of encountering Pink Puffs, and there's a 1/64 chance of each Pink Puff dropping a Pink Tail, technically it'd be (1/64)*(5/64), which, I think, would be around 1/800 or so, maybe a little more. 1/820? Something like that, 1/820 chance of getting into a battle with Pink Puffs and winning a Pink Tail.

Really at this point of the game, it's a real piss off because the armor u can get from it is necessary(at least it should be) to defeat Brachioraidos....
Also srry bout my last post, just didn't know that it became princess flan. (i didn't meet it yet lol) |

I found 14 of the 21 rare items in that game, and again whether it be the SNES version or PS version I could never find the other call spells aside from Imp. But as far as that rare item...the infamous Pink Tail. You people will never believe this, but I got it on my very first try. I walked into the room right, went to the center. Didn't fight anything yet, hit an alarm. It gave me the pink puff and then I noticed that the battle was trippy as shit with them off and on taking control of me. I beat them eventually, my guys were so strong. Dropped the tail that first battle. I rule. Can't believe you ain't got it yet. I never got: Cocatric Bomb Mage Hourglass 3 Cursed Ring Lilith Rod Rune Axe

Guess its just too damn random in my games Cobain, bleh >.< As I mentioned tho, Game Genie codes are beautiful things ... I use one of my FFIV Roms solely for the codes to test stuff out and rip sprites, the rest arent touched ^^

What a jip, I wanted all of them, but realized I couldn't wait on FF IV forever, so I just gave up after a while. But what you said could be true, we'll never know though.

Wow, i hadn't realized that the Lilith rod was rare, i think i got around three of those, and i only fought maybe 10 (roughly).
Anyways, there isn't a level requirement to meet the princess flan. Yes, you can use an alarm (siren in the advanced game) in that certain room to fight a group of 5 Princess flans. Finally, the room with the Princess flans is a very tiny one that resembles an upside down L with one chest in it. Okay, from the final save point in the lunar subterrain ( I believe LS 7) Walk northwest and through the door. Travel around the cavern formation, up the ladder through the door again; I believe there should be an entrance to the right after that, which should be the tiny room with the Princess flans. I believe that this is correct, but it's only from memory; anyone feel free to correct any of the directions that are wrong. |
