Battle Royal
If all the characters from all the Final Fantasy games had a massive fight, who do you think would prevail over all?
Zidane? Cloud? Orlandu Sabin? Rinoa? Discuss... At this moment in time i am thinking Orlandu from Final Fantasy Tactics that guy is triple hard.

Unfortunately, i've never played FFT so i can't make an acurate assumption about Orlandu, but i'd say that the firearms characters may have an advantage of the CCW ones, but it would still be a hard fought battle. If you're limiting the damage max and HP to 9999 (which all but eliminates the FFX advantage) i'd say that it may even be Cloud who could come out on top, however, i'll say that Sabin (courtesy of his Blitz techniques) would have a good chance of coming out on top.

Why did you put Rinoa in the list?????
Anyway, I think Sabin would stand little chance against a grand thief such as Zidane, he's too fast! Cloud could have a good chance, seeing his incredibly skilled with the sword. I don't know much about Orlandu, haven't played FFT. And Rinoa...don't make me laugh...her weapon is far from good enough to stand a chance against ANYONE. Even Relm would kick her ass, even when she's equipped with her brush... So in conclusion I think Zidane would win. Speed will conquer in this case. And if he's equipped with a Dual Blade (Note, not dual daggers), he can land attacks very quickly. |

If there was a big Royal I most of them would get annihilated in the first minutes and it would come down to Cloud, Squall, Sabin, Zidane and the knight on 1. Cloud has a great limit break and he is skilled with the sword. Squall has the best limit in the whole series in my opinion the only problem is on the game its random. Sabin was quite powerful and had some good attacks. The knight despise the numbers changing and the lack of special attacks would kick major ass. Zidane is not as strong as the others but he has great speed and could land in a lot of hits on the weak ones easy. Overall I am going with Squall.

FFI - Red Wizard FFII - Firion & Leon FFIV - Kain & Dark Knight Cecil FFV - Nobody (LoL) FFVI - Celes FFVII - Cloud FFVIII - Yet again, nobody FFIX - Zidane & Freya FFX - Kimahri & Auron FFX-2 - ...Nobody So, let me explain why. First of all, Dragoons have a major agile advantage, seeing they can jump sky-high. The Red Wizard can carry a lot of different swords, and is an excellent magician. Firion and Leon will probably team up and kick everyone elses ass. Same goes for Kain and Cecil. Eventually, those two will fight eachother and Kain will emerge as victor. Celes is a powerful magician that sucks up any magic attacks thrown at her. She is also a very skilled swordswoman. Cloud's sword techniques will show everyone how skilled he is with his trusty blade. Zidane will kick a lot of but with his high speed and many hits. And Auron will seal the deal with one blow each. So 11 characters are left standing in my version. I'll give further comment on my next post ![]() |

Hmm... tricky... I still think some of the firearms characters would still have a good chance, and (I agree with Inferno Mage here) Dragoon's will also have a better chance than others. This would mean that any of the FFV characters could come out into the final fight as they caould all be Dragoons at once!
Kain and Cecil (Dark Knight or Paladin, they were both powerful) would have a good chance, while i think Edgar would also do well. Cloud would do well just for his raw power, while Seifer should also put up a good fight (Fire Cross folks!). From IX i'd say Freya would have a good chance (again, Dragoon), but i never thought Zidane was as fast as everyone else said. Tidus could do well too becuase of his good agility. but a winner out of these, that needs thinking about...

(I'm going to assume that we're normalizing the damage scale here; otherwise characters from FFX would have too much of an advantage (they can survive 9999 damage attacks, nobody else can) and characters from lower damage scale games like FF1 and the Tactics series would get owned.)
Hmm... I'm not entirely sure who would win. My top five candidates would be Edgar, Cloud, Squall, Yuna + her Aeons, and Orlandu. Edgar wins the award for coolest bag of tricks. He gets to start the battle by whipping out his BioBlaster and Flash gun and poisoning/blinding his competition. He can then sit there and spray them with arrows from his Auto-Crossbow until they get close, then whip out his Genji-Glove/Offering/Atma Weapon/Illumina and go nuts on everybody in the vicinity. Should the poo hit the fan, he can pull out a spear, put on dragon boots, and take to the skies to get out of the way. He even has the advantage that jumps in FF6 interrupt the turn order and launch as soon as the command is selected. And furthermore, he's got the complete set of FF6 spells and espers at his disposal (can we say "Golem" or "Fenrir"?). Cloud, however, has everything that Edgar does and more. His sole failing is that he can't jump; however, he can cast or summon anything he likes (better than Edgar can, because his materia will buff his MP up), he can counterattack several times in succession, and he can put crazy status or elemental properties on his weapon. On top of that, he's got Omnislash; if that thing goes off, ain't NOBODY gonna survive it. Cloud even has the infinite life trick with HP<->MP, MasterSummon, and FinalAttack----Phoenix. On a lesser note, he has whatever status/elemental defenses he needs, plus a raft of enemy skills, and while it may seem that Edgar has range on him, Cloud can just strap on a LongRange materia and duke it out from afar. It'd take a lot of effort to bring this man down. Squall isn't quite as versitile as Cloud or Edgar, but he's still a force to be reckoned with. He can give himself whatever auto-statuses he needs, critical hit at will, and has as much magic as he needs, not to mention that he can draw more should he run out. However, why should he rely on any of that when he can... wait for it... Renzokuken EVERY SINGLE FRICKIN' TURN!!! Aura helps with this, but even without that he can sit there whacking circle over and over until his limit comes up. And if you thought Omnislash would clear out the competition, imagine what Lion Heart will do. Squall's weaknesses include lack of jumping ability and no ranged attacks; Edgar can sit back and take him out from a distance. Yuna plays a completely different game from the others. Although she can max out her stats by playing games with the sphere grid, she's got a weapon nobody else has: Aeons. People say that dragoons are good at hiding from other attacks, but dragons are a step up from that; what could be better than running away and letting Bahamut handle the fight for you? Sure, Yuna could also cast Holy for ten times as much damage as anybody else could, but since we're normalizing damage, her Aeons are really all she has going for her. That said, that's a pretty big advantage; each of her Aeons is hard to remove, but you're gonna have to take out 10 of them before you get to her. So whatever happened to Orlandu? Astonishingly enough, while T.G. Cid might be the most overpowered character in the series, this is mostly only in relation to those he fights against. Characters from the FFT universe don't have Limit Breaks, don't have access to the same spectrum of abilities that charcters from other games have (sure they can change jobs, but they only get two skillsets at a time), and their spells have a greater chance to miss. However... we've seen Orlandu and Cloud next to each other in Ivalice, and Orlandu is hands down superior there. Also, Orlandu can jump like a Dragoon, he can pull together an infinite life trick (97 brave, MP Switch, and Move-MP UP), he's immune from the plague of having his attacks miss, and some of them are bloody powerful. I wonder what Edgar, Cloud, and Squall would think after their weapons were broken in one shot from the mighty Blastar Punch. He's also got the ability to dodge spells with his shield, he's got Excalibur to play around with (so does Edgar, but Orlandu's version is better), and he can switch over to Math Skill and toast the battlefield in one turn if it becomes absolutely necessary. Yes, while Orlandu isn't quite as overtly obscene as those 9999-waving main characters from other games, I believe the Obi-wan lookalike would manage to pull together a battle-royale victory in the end. |
