Final Fantasy Party

I was Thinking about this for a while now. If Mario an his buddies can do it, why can't Final Fantasy Buddies also do it?

What if Square Enix released a Final Fantasy Party? Would you be in favor? If not, why?


In my opinion, there is so much ground to cover about this topic that this thread could explode....lol. First off, the game should include 3 main characters from each FF, those being rather popular chracrters (EG. Cloud). Where each person owning a game fills out a profile and selects a charcter. Secondly the game should include massive mini games which are in length 10 mintues each. The main game is EXP. based and as you win minigames, it gets tougher and you level up of course. Also, it may include full games such as chocobo racing, Blitzball, and even a colliseum for battling out your profile characters(Online too!). And so on......

I wouldn't say three from each, as some FFs don't have as many characters as others -- from FFVII, maybe Cloud alone, or Cloud and Tifa, but from, say FFIV, Kain and Cecil both, along with possibly Rydia or Golbez. Other'n that...doesn't sound like too bad of an idea.

They KINDA did. But only in Japan, it was called Idataki Street Special and had characters from both FF and Dragon Quest. Though it only followed Mario Party in terms of "Game board" type gameplay.

I agree, we need more FF Crossover games like Mario Party. Ones that have characters prior to VII too.

Wasn't there talk at some point of doing a ff-based fighting game? As I recall, there were rumors of it at some point, but the project got cancelled pretty early on. Or else I may be completely mistaken here. Anyway, I think that would be pretty cool... probably best as a weapon-based game. Could be 3D like SoulCalibur, or 2D like Guilty Gear. I'd opt for the latter, as many FF characters have attacks that function better in 2D fighters than 3D ones (you don't see fireballs as often in 3D games).

I also think it would be pretty interesting to do a tactics-based FF spinoff. I mean, I realize that there are already FFT and FFT:A, but I'm thinking more of a game that drops any pretense at a serious "plot" and instead just allows you to have fun. Imagine if the entire focus of the game were including as many playable characters as possible - pick your favorite five and go up against randomly-generated teams consisting of the rest. (For people who absolutely must have plot, I suppose you can imagine this as a big colleseum between the FF worlds where characters come to hang out between games.) I dunno how you'd negotiate the different battle systems; you'd have to do a bit of damage scaling to allow Magus's 700-ish HP to compete with Auron's 12000+ HP, but it might be interesting to try to keep each character's system as faithful to the original game as possible. Characters from the FF8 universe should be able to shrug off Osmose, because they don't use MP to cast spells. Meanwhile Ramza looks at Paine and complains, "No fair! She gets to change jobs mid battle and I don't!" Meh, just a concept that I think would be entertaining.

(Ohyeah, and Sephiroth's sword should count as a ranged weapon. Almost forgot about that one.)

There is one, well, sort of. It's called Ehrgeiz, like the name of Zell's final gloves in FFVIII. It's for the PS one. It was a fighting game that had 3 FFVII characters in it: Tifa, Cloud, and Sephiroth. I saw it at a game store one day in the old Playstation games section and had to buy it because it had Cloud on the cover. It's OK like to amuse yourself with if you wanna cut someone up as Seph or Cloud or do that sort of thing and there's also an RPG sidequest type game with it but it's not really that great as far as content or replay value.

But yeah I'd play a FF Party game. The first couple Mario Party's were fun but I never kept up with all 190236 of them.

Agreed on the second part ... although people would be bitching again about how Squeenix is overmilking their older works o;

That would be really good if they could make a game like this, characters kept close to their original selves just with the HP levels changed and you could earn other abilities. As well the side quests could explain parts of the story that weren't in the original game. The could do something like you start off with the characters on FF1 and 2 then you can do stuff to unlock the rest of the characters.

I think that they should make the FF party thing in US, are in other contries. I also think that they should make like a FF sims are something to. Live as one of the charecters from the FF serise. You could also make your own charecter. Have it so you could live in Midgare are Kalm, places like that. Build your own house, and choose what Job class you want to be.

Stuff like that. Then make a storyline of your life, and play it out. Like so you are in the army. You go to war, and defeat who ever. The game would be based around your thoughs of what you think should happend in your life are something.

You could say it would be a life away from your body.

I would have buy it if they made it but it would be hard to make it a good game. I mean what would you do on it play little mini games like mario party? But I guess it Final Fantasy Party doesn't sound like a bad idea.

If the came out with one for America, it would relly be fun to play. Me and my freinds spent hours playin the old Maroi Partys and this would'nt be any different, just way better.
