Well I can whole-heartedly recommend you go out and buy this new marvel, Square actually did a good remake of a FF title on the GBA for once in their career's lol. But I would get it more-so because I am a hardcore fan of the game so thats an entirelly different pov - still, its a game worthy of having a place in any persons GBA collection.

I've never played FFIV before, but being a fan of the series and all. I picked up a copy and I can tell you, it's really addicting. I played it the first night for about 4 or 5 hours.
Story-wise, it's so much better than FFI&II and I think that's part of why it's so interesting and fun to play.
Of course, you still have the moments where you have to take the time to level-up your allies, but that's a given for any FF game.
My rating for FFIV: A-
But to answer your question, yes it's worth buying. lol.

an A-?!

Definately FF4 for GBA is worth buying, but I find the game to be average at best, b/c enough though I'm a hardcore FF4 fan, it can get old after going through the game so many times it can get old, and little has changed with the game, besides cosmetically, (yes, Cecil does look a little more whoop-ass in his paladin outfit, and the dark knight armor is actually more black...) There are 2 new dungeons, but imo they are quite easy and a breeze through, even the 50 floor Lunar Ruins one is quite simple. The worst parts about it is that you have to go through them all with mulitple teams, which can be very time consuming and repetitive. my favorite part of it was being able to have different final teams at the end though, that was good.

all in all, I give it a C, and even that because I was biased FOR it!

I just started it, and I'll give it a B just because it's FFIV. The few modifications I've noticed, I'm not too fond of, but I'd rather have them stick to the old names and such.

I've seen but never played the one for PS, but I do have thwe one for the DS, and I think it's great. I'm not sure what most people would think of it, but so far with what I've played I'm quite satisfied with.

Omega has levelled up - (lv 1)
Well I don't think it's worth it, but I haven't played it.

Seems like my opinion is undervalued then, but I don't see the point in buying the game twice. Don't get me wrong FF IV is my fav game in the series, but I don't like when they change the original and add like two things to make you rebuy it and play it again. It's simply a cash cow, and it's on a different system, or one that I don't own. So it won't do me any good financially to buy all that shit to play the same game I did on 2 different systems already, with FF II on SNES and FF Chronicles on PSX.

Mostly all I've seen upgraded was the backgrounds or landscapes, and I don't see any other serious graphical changes than that. Plus, they didn't do this for the PSX, but they do it for the Gameboy. You ever wonder why?

Most likely to expand the people who play FF, starting to bring back some die hard Nintendo members, and simply to make money.

I won't be buying it.

What's wrong with that? If they put out a FFVII for PSP, how many suckers would be snatching that off the shelves? They're trying to bring the older games back into the newer market -- the newer fans might buy it just because they recognize the Final Fantasy name, and the older fans might buy it just because they want another copy, especially one with the newer dungeons and party-swapping. (Though, I don't like how you can't get rid of Cecil, because if you could, you could trade your entire party out for the older characters.)

Apparently nothing with you.

I feel it's a waste of time.

I've already played the game, 2 new dungeons doesn't make the game significantly different enough for me.

Waste of money.

Company wise it's smart, shit I might consider it to, if I worked as a CEO for Square, but still it's milking the cash cow and making us continually wait longer and longer for the new titles.

ok - this is why it's not a waste of money

a)some people actually like playing through their favorite RPGs more than once O_O. shocking i know, and it's always fun to play a remake - especially of your favorite.

b)not everyone has a ****ing playstation, and if they had only played the SNES version they've never experienced the full 'hardtype' game that is the PSX and GBA versions

c)it's portable! you can pop it out of your gameboy player and take it with you - fight the leviathan while waiting for a table, level grind on public transportation, have FFIV with you at all times in your pocket ready to play. that makes it worth buying again by itself.
