PS2 Equipment Help

I didn't know where to put this, but I decided the best place was here; so if this is the wrong place, I'm sorry.

Anyway, I just recently was able to get a Slim PS2 for my birthday; which was only a week or two ago. When I was playing Beyond Good and Evil today, I realized that my X Button sticks whenever I apply quite a bit of pressure to it.

Is there anyway to fix it before I have to call up the PS2 Technical Support? If I'm able to fix it before having to call them up, asking for a new controller, and then paying the shipment price (Or even buying a new controller); I would greatly appreciate it.

Your X button sticks, eh? Yeah, it happens. And 'quite a bit', the hell you need to apply that much pressure for anyway?

It's your own fault it's broken. =P Buy a new controller and take good care of it and don't mash the buttons too hard or they'll break again.

There's no reason to call tech support for controllers...they'll probably tell you the same thing I did. Only reason they'll stick is if you apply too much pressure. You don't need to put great force on the buttons. Just tap or press them lightly.

Again. Just buy a new controller. They're like.. 10-20$. Cheap.

I suppose I made it sound like I'm mashing the buttons with quite a great deal of force. I don't really. The only time that I did that, was to see how much pressure was required in order to make the X button stick.

I tap the X Button, very quickly, and I use it quite a bit in Beyond Good and Evil because that is your attack button. I probably did do something to make it that way, but playing last night it seems that it wants to work again.
Regardless, thank you for your honest help. ^-^

There are two things wrong on that.

One. SHe don't push those buttons hard. And the only way that you can put that much pressure to make it stick such as that is to step on it or push it down and move it as you do. I know. I have tried.

And 2. If there are warrenties on there, calling Tech Support wouldn't help, but calling the Repair Dept. or something of that nature would be beneficial. That way, she can get a new controller, since it is under a warranty.

Well. As I think about it, I did have something to eat WHILE I was playing the game. So, something could have stuck and temporarily put it out of perfect working order. It is fine now.
