FF1 Omega & guy who comes before Omega

Hey all, I finished FF7, 8, 9, 10, X2 and thought I'd start on FF1 and finish them all. But, I'm the type of guy who has to pretty much kill everything in the game and get all the good stuff. So, I'm going to have a handful of questions for ya. First of all, all my questions are from FF1 right now, and I just won the game today on lvl 99 but want to go back and kill Omega and the guy who comes before Omega (who smoked me earlier in the game when I got to them on accident). Oh, and this may or may not make a difference, but I'm playing FF1 on the Gameboy edition of the game, not sure if it's identical to the other games or not.

Anyway, I can't remember where to go to fight Omega. Was it the Earthgift Shrine, the Hellfire Chasm, the Lifespring Grotto, or somewhere else???..I know he's on the 20th floor of some cavern, I just don't want to go hunting for him and end up on the wrong place.

Also, I'm only 93% done with the beastiary and was hoping to kill 100% of the people....does anyone know who monsters 44, 95, 118, 123, 135, 136, 139, 140, 147, 149, 156, 183, 184 are, and where to find them? Or, did I just miss one cavern or something where all these monsters were?

Well, I can't tell you about Omega because I haven't played Dawn of Souls myself... but I can tell you that the GBA version of the game is NOTHING at all like the NES and PS versions. The "real" version of the game doesn't have MP (it keeps track of how many times you're allowed to use each individual level of spell), it doesn't have ethers (no way to get spells back except to spend the night at an inn), it doesn't have Phoenix Downs (white/red mages can revive KO'd characters - outside of battle only - but it's expensive and often not worth it), it doesn't auto-retarget when you kill a monster (strategically dividing up your attacks is part of the game), and thieves are much weaker (the point of a thief in the original games was to help you run away, not to help you kill things). The original was also much, much harder.

If you want to really experience FF1, try either the NES or the PS1 version. The latter is a bit easier than the former (it lets you do a few things like change weapons mid-battle that you couldn't do in the original, but at least you can turn off stuff like auto-retargetting and reviving during battle); however, since FF1 NES is full of bugs and has the worst interface in the history of video games (to buy a potion you have to click "buy," then "potion," then "ok"... and there is no way to buy multiple items at once. This means that buying 99 potions requires 297 button presses + waiting for menus to pop up... ugh!). So stick with FF Origins.

Sorry for the off-topic post, but you expressed interest in "finishing them all" so I figured I'd drop my two cents. Again, I can't tell you about Omega, but if you need help with the original version of the game I'd be glad to see what I can do.

do you mean the GBA version??? if you do, Omega should be in the Lifespring Grotto

the remakes of ff1 all suck, the origonal will show you what i real RPG is supposed to be like. and if you get a lv 99 character on the nes version then you have WAY to much time on you hands. i only got to lv 60 or so and killed the end boss as easily as if he were an imp or something lol

If you made it to lv. 60 on the nes version then you must have been cheating or something because the nes version's highest level was only 50. Just felt I should point that out because i r cloud's close mindedness and lack of fact checking is really annoying me.
