paladin question

at the part where cecil is about to trn into a paladin and has to fight his dark knight side, what do you have to do to defeat him? It keeps saying "a true paladin will sheath his sword" is there something specific u have to do?

Okay, fine, since you can't manually sheathe your sword in that game, that may not have been the best advice. But try to follow it in spirit. If your sword is sheathed, then you can't _____ so instead you must _____.

If you are still stuck, somebody will probably post a spoiler here eventually. But this isn't that difficult once you grasp the concept.

Theres 2 ways you can go about this fight, but, as mentioned above its an easy concept to grasp. Sheathing your sword in this game means -> using the Defend option, to do this you must press the right direction on your GBA/GBMicro/Emulator to see the "Defend" option come up. All you need to do is use this option every single turn you have and you will win the battle, if memory serves you HAVE to attack him once at the start to start the messages up.

The alternative method is, to attack the Dark Knight head on. Back on the SNES version the Dark Knight had 4520 HP so you can hack and slash at the Dark Knight until he falls - but it really takes a long time considering your new shiney Sword of Legend only hits for 60-120 per swing on the guy.

Yeah, on the GBA version, you just have to defend for a few rounds.

u do nothing for a couople of turns...and then your levels on Cecil get all jacked up(at least thats what happened to me)

Umm, well, that's the pain in the butt way to go about it, I suppose. Once you attack him, the message will pop up to tell you to sheath your sword. Keep defending, and the Dark Knight will only do half damage to you. You could also sit back and relax for a while, doing nothing, as he'll eventually destroy himself. It's symbolic of how darkness will destroy you.

Anywho, you'll probably gain enough XP to move up to level 6 or 7. Cecil grows in level FAST on Mt. Ordeals.

there are two ways to go about it. One is you can defend like your supposed to, and the battle will end in a few rounds, or you could stock up on some cure2's from mysidia and fight him. I did both and found that fighting him was both hard, and a waste of time.

It isn't a hard battle to win. I have bought a lot of potions and i kept attacking and healing myshelf since i finally defeated him.

In final fantasy IV advance, before the battle I took off all of my dark equipment and did not fight at all and took me onward

What i did was Just keep blocking for 3-5 turns then sooner or later itll say
"Some fight for law" "some fight for justice" "what will you fight for?" "someday you will see" Then youll win thats what i did
