FFV Remake?

I was wondering since FFIV for the GBA was released: Is FFV going to be remade as well? I mean, FFI, II and Iv have been...is FFV going to be next? I would be nice to see the excellent game be revived on the GBA. I loved the game, but it was a shame that the small things were overlooked.

Anyway, if anyone has some info about this, please let me know. And do you even hope that Final Fantasy V will be remade? Let me know...

Yes, FFV will be next, and FFVI after that. I've said it in half a dozen threads around here, but I can't blame you for not seeing it. There are a LOT of threads about remakes, heh, and none here in the FFV forum. Maybe I should start merging some of those other remake threads together... *ponders*

Like Final Fantasy IV, the battle background graphics of Final Fantasy V will be enhanced. Final Fantasy VI's battle background graphics already look good enough.

why does everything have to be rereleased on the ds/gba I have a ps2 with all off them except 3 and tactics but i cant afford to shell out $300 for a new system, i probably wont be able to get a ps3 when it comes out

I wish they would remake Final Fantasy V/VI for PS2. I know they probably won't because they've already remade it for Playstation 1. It would be great if they did remake it for PS2 though, imagine how excellent the graphics would be! I wish I had a GBA, I'll have to get one sometime...

Don't expect it any time soon. Or ever, for that matter.

They haven't even finished FFV for the GBA, so I highly doubt they'll be remaking it yet again for the DS. I wouldn't be surprised if they waited for the next handheld generation to do another set of releases though.

The PSOne version of the SNES trilogy is essentially a direct port of the original version. So the SNES trilogy was ported, not remade. There will probably be some console 3D remake of the Final Fantasy SNES trilogy one day on a Sony and/or Microsoft console. PS2 is considered outdated for 3D remakes. They would be on PS4 or later.

I doubt they'll ever port the games to a console again. The games that they are remaking are outdated and can only be accepted by the public if they're on a systems with weaker graphics. A SNES game would not look good to most people if it came out for the PS2, but on the GameBoy it appears to belong.

That depends. There is nothing wrong with the game itself, except possibly that it is much more simple than most contemporary games. That said, FFV is still fun. If they were to remake it with modern day graphics and sound then it might stand a chance.

But if they're gonna invest that much money into a game, I believe they'd do better just to make an entirely new game from scratch. Saying that FFV was a good game doesn't mean that they couldn't have done a better job with the story or the game balance, and if they're gonna go changing all those things then they might as well just start over from scratch.

It would be nice to see a new version of V prehaps on the PSP but it feels like they have done enough re-releases/ports/remakes, except for III as a lot of people havent played it, 5 was a good game, 1 of my favourites out of the older 1s but I dont see the point in shelling out $70 odd for a new copy when i allready got it (anthology)

I expect Square actually remakes this game for the GBA, or maybe the DS (I prefer GBA). The game on the PSX showed the original was a very good one, yet the story didn't grabbed me as the others did. The reason why I would play it again is for the Job system: if you are willing to experiment, the game's replay factor suddenly rises. I think the way the story was made does not respect the system, but it ain't that bad. If SE goes the GBA remake way, I expect them to check on the script, and add some more job classes.
