Iury vs. Helena <~ Phoenix Battle!! ~>

<~ OOC: This is not an actual challenge, more a modest request to show what man is worth I kinda appreciate that, at least someone has the heart to do it. And if you all don't know who I'm talking about...it's Red XIV baby!! Let's see what he's got. ~>

After passing through Terra and meeting up with Fenii, Iury was given the task to test fighters to see what they are worth. He was then told that people with potential should be referred to Normally Iury would've rejected such an offer, it was just the fact that Fenii offered him the Sun Coin, a rare artifact Iury's master Lusha was looking for. Of course every action was for one goal; to win the hand of Lusha's lovely daughter Eve.

As Iury slowly walked through the open woods, he could see the sun setting and a warm feeling took over his heart. He thought back of the times he used to share with his grandfather and looked at his platinum hatchet, he had crafted. It was something to forever remember him by. Through it all, Iury noticed the woods were pretty crowded. People were walking over the roads, merchants selling their items to bypassers, men charming the women, women charming the men. Then it struck Iury: "Ow, of course!! Mr. Fenii told me about his project...He said it would attract a lot of people. I was wondering why it was so busy this time of day."

Iury kept on walking saw girl that was holding his head. Iury rushed to her and asked: "Lady, are you allright?" The girl turned to Iury and said: "Yes, I'm allright...now." Iury looked at her in a strange matter and asked her another question: "Are you headed to Terra to see Sir Fenii and his Knights?" The girl nodded and added: "Yes...only I wish to become one of them too, were it not for my problem..." Iury laughed and said: "Oh, come on, your problem can't be that bad! I bet you're fine. Go ahead and show me what you're made of. Come on, don't be shy, give me your best shot!" Iury pointed at his face with his eyes closed.....

"Finally..." Helena thought to herself. "A chance to get into the Phoenix Knights... If I can get in..." Helena took in a deep breath. She will need to use all the skills taught to her by Bazal in order to win. She needed to get into the Phoenix Knights. If she got in, it could help her find information about Bazal's murderer.

"Can I do it?" she thought, slowly standing. "Do I have a chance? Is my telekinetics enough?" She took in another breath and picked up her old rusty spear, Geiborg and took a battle stance.

"Ready?" Iury asked. Helena shook her head, slowly.

"Yes..." she muttered. Iury laughed and got into battle position, too.

Helena decided to try to suprise attack him. She ran forward, Geiborg in front of her, like a lance when jousting, her long black hair flowing in the wind. However, just as she was about to be in Iury's range, she jumped over him. Helena was a fast fighter, but an inexperienced one. She landed on the ground and rolled forward. Iury was taken aback. She concentrated her energy and jumped up, spear out. Her telekinesis kept her in the air for a few seconds longer, and Helena lunged forward, about to strike with the spear.

Iury's Initiative foresaw a few moves, but he wasn't sure what he could make up out of the signs. When he finally made sense out of them all he swung his hatchet to cast away the attack. Helena stepped back and the two faced each other. Iury spoke: "Well, I guess you DO want to fight. Allright!! I haven't fighted since...I can't even remember!!!"

Iury cracked his neck and loosened his muscles which showed he was preparing to fight seriously. He grabbed his hatchet firmly and watched how Helena patientwaited, as the lady that she was. Iury twirled his hatched once and held it over his right shoulder as he ran towards Helena. With his left hand before him, he prepared his Aero spell and with that he hoped to knock Helena off balance and slash her with his hatchet when she did...

Iury launched the Aero spell at Helena, quickly. She was thrown off balance. She was dizzy and she had almost fallen. During this time, Iury had come in for an attack with his platinum hatchet. Helena had just enough time when the hatchet came, to lurch to the side, but it didn't help. The hatchet, with its sharp edge, had come right down, across her shoulder, cutting the strap of her dress and leaving a bloody cut. She recoiled back, and almost fell again. She held her shoulder, trying to keep the blood in.

"Damn!" she cried, looking at her wound. It was bleeding badly. She tore a piece of cloth from her dress off, and wiped the blood off. She then tied the cloth around her shoulder, to stop the bleeding. "That hatchet..."

She didn't have time to waste. She needed to move. Iury was a strong and fast opponent. She couldn't waste time.

She ran to the left of Iury and rolled forward. She came right up to where Iury was standing and jabbed her spear up, right to his neck.

In attempt to dodge the attack, the spear scraped Iury's neck. He had moved only a little bit, but the attack was accurate enough to hit anyway. The left side of his neck was now bleeding, but saw that Helena was also in pain.

This battle could go either way. And it could take long or maybe even a while. Either way, Iury knew that he wasn't going to win by lolligagging. He opened his mantle, revealing several scars from wild beasts and other battles. He took a very deep breath to try and ease the pain of his fresh wound.

He then decided to dispose his hatchet momentarily by throwing it towards Helena. He then readied his hands as he launched himself towards Helena. He felt that weapons shoudln't be necessary now, his hands would do all the work for him.....

"Iury's tough... I barely made a scratch." she thought to herself, as the hatchet came flying towards her face. She used her telekinetic powers to take control of the hatchet and send it flying into a tree, far away from the field of battle.

While she was preoccupied, Iury came forward, with his fists ready to strike. Helena was hit by several blows, but managed to slide backwards. She was exhausted. The punches took away some of her energy and she was low on breath. But, she concentrated her energy and sent a blast of psychic energy towards Iury. The dark ball of matter was heading for Iury's chest, at an incredible speed. Her Psiko Blast consumed a lot of her energy, but she could still fight.

As Iury was still recovering from his attacks, he didn't have the time nor speed to dodge the strange psychic attack. It hit him head on and launched him at some trees, pretty far away from where it all started. He took a pretty bad hit from the attack, but nothing other but his neck was bleeding. He felt grabbed towards his back and felt extreme pain when he did. He might've broken something.

He saw Helena in the distance and he tried to figure out a way to attack her. He looked left and right to find something that might aid him. He was glad to his hatchet, which was stuck with its blade in a nearby tree. Iury saved up some strength and stood up, to head to his hatchet. Still recovering from all the things that had happened before he pulled his hatchet out and was happy to hold it again: "Grandfather...give me strength. Guide me trough this battle..." The Moon Pearl shined brightly, it was a sign of the blessing that was laid upon the weapon.

Iury started to prepare a spell again. After a short chanting he threw his hatchet in to the air: "Float!!" Strangely enough casted it on his weapon. The hatchet now had the ability to hover beside him. He then readied another attack, which he did because the distance between the fighters was too big: "Thunder!!" A bolt of lightning came crashing out of the skies and flash was heading towards the young Helena.....

"He's still standing?!?" Helena thought to herself, in disbelief. "How did he survive my energy blast!?!"

Iury got up and found his hatchet. Helena heard him cast float. She immediately cast Gravity on herself, to fortify her position, in case he used it on her. However, oddly, he cast it on his hatchet.

"Why did he do that?" she muttered. She shook her head, disregarding Iury's actions, thinking back to the battle.

After, Iury cast Thunder. Helena had to think fast, as the lighting bolt came flying towards her. She tried to summon a shield of energy, but she was too weak. She was hit, and fell to the ground, her skin burning, paralyzed.

"Damn! I'm done for!" she thought to herself, trying to move. She struggled, and barely managed to crawl a few inches. She lifted herself up to a crouching position, to fall back down again. Her skin was on fire. The pain was intense.

As Iury walked up to her, she could only think of one thing to do.

"So...Iury," she began, with her eyes closed and a slight smirk on her lips. "Who is this Eve, that you are thinking about? Do you love her?"

Helena was playing mind games.

Iury was amazed: "How...what...you leave Eve alone!!" The beast in Iury was coming back. Although he tried to pull this back: "I want Eve...she's the daughter of my master. If I find the artifacts...I can win her over..."

He saw Helena was almost defeated. And he also knew that she had proven herself worthy. Not many could hurt Iury in a matter she did. He could easily dispatch her. But she showed she cared about Iury even when she was down. It were these noble things that Fenii had asked Iury to discover. He would certainly be fond of the young woman.

Iury picked her up from the floor and carried her away. To safety, to Terra, where the order of the Phoenix Knights was established. They were both glad this battle was over.....
