Nintendo of America shipped their first installment of Final Fantasy IV Advance to retailers today. Average retail price is only $29.99.
In addition, the North American website is now officially open. Many have been viewing the old Japanese site for media, pictures, and content, so it is refreshing to get a new ENGLISH site: http://ffiv.nintendo.com/prelaunch/ This is probably the first time North America will recieve any Square-Enix game before Japan, who will expects to get their hands on this fresh new release on Dec. 15th |

I find it kind of ironic that they made the Official Site for the cart open for viewing after the actual date of its release..
oh well, its better late then never in any case!Good move, late, but good. And surprisingly its *not* on the Square site, thats a first o.o

Finally, the game is released, i'm happy because US is getting the game before Japan, because i can't wait to play it!!
I've written a thread before, but i have something to say, i got the game, the game has much improved graphics, and characters has some new spells that weren't at the snes or psx versions, and there many more weapons and armors!! The game is wonderful, i can't say anything more, just play it yourself |

As far as in-game abilities and spells goes, nothing has been modified - the main thing that has been accomplished this time around is a wider variety of sprites and higher detailed backgrounds/maps overall. Also alot of new cut-scenes have been added, dialog, and those shiney new character portraits are quite the gem to look at.
^_^ Bravo.

Nintendo always gets the official site like with FFCC.Anything Square + Nintendo=Official site on Nintendo.Oh yeah this game needs to get lots of new things for me to buy it cause the one on PS is good too.Still I cant believe they remade the game twice again(FFO &FFDoS).I just think the time they put in to make FFIV Advance they could've made FFIII DS or put FFIII and IV 2gether because as u have seen the games are release in two's:
FF: Origins/FFDOS=FFI FFII FFAnthology FFV FFVI Why couldnt they make a 3 and 4 for the DS or GBA to finish all off? No,they have ppl who are eagerly awaiting FFIII wait some more while everyone in the world (lil exaggeration there) have a copy of FFIV. |

I was playing the game minutes ago, the game has the same spells but some of them has different names, for example Cure II is Cura now, and Thunder II is Thundaga, and each character has new abilities, Yang can use Power, Kick & Grid, Cecil can use Dark while he is a dark knight, and he can use White Magic & Cover when he is a paladin, just like before
Everyone has many new equipment, so far i have many equipment weren't at the previous releases, and by the way, the game is as hard as i heard, that was disappointing Anyways, there are 2 new hidden summons for Rydia, Goblin and another one (i forgot the name), and by the way, the graphics were improved, many new scenes were added to the game, and many things were explained better than before The backgrounds are amazing, they are 100% better than any background at the previous releases, they look very cool and detailed, and they are well colored as well, and there a special touch to the dialogue text, which is the picture of the character, which in my oppenion is very nice Overall, this game deserves 10 out of 10 for its prefection and extras, well i'm not saying anything more, try it out!! |

How far are you people at in the gba version. i'm at the part where i have to protect the last dark crystal. My cecil is at level 71 and rydia is at 52 and rosa is at level 54 and edge is at level 33 and kain is at level 57. (If your wondering how i leveled cecil so high, i walked around the underworld just before the part where i had to go to tower of babel for the first time. i was walking around this big white patch almost the whole time.)

Damn. I'm just now getting to the moon, and I don't think I have anybody at level 40 yet. I'll probably wait to get Kain back before I do stuff like Sylvan Cave or Leviathan and Ashura, even though I did go down there to get the Rat Tail so I could get Excalibur.
I'm wondering where/when the extra dungeon is. There are some things I don't like about it, though. First, the names of spells...Ice2 and Lit3 and Cure4 worked great, they didn't need to put new names on 'em. Then there's White, Nuke, stuff like that, and all the new names for a bunch of the weapons and armors. Mainly, what the hell is Meteor? Meteor in the latest games is a mediocrely-powerful spell, why is the most powerful spell in the game named Meteor, why couldn't it stay Meteo? I would have liked Meteo better. Secondly, I've noticed some of the text has changed. Not too much of a difference, but it's gotten a little more lame ... for example, there's no "smut" anymore, it's "Magazine". What a crock. Third, though, just pisses me off. The battle magic menus. In your menu, when you select Magic then pick a character, it'll have all of their spells arranged in three columns, right? But when you go to battle, and try to cast something, they're in TWO columns! Instead of having everything arranged nice and neat, it's all screwed up. But other'n that, looks pretty good. I just want to see what that new dungeon is all about, I've heard some good things about it. EDIT: Found the dungeon thing. And thought of one more thing I didn't like about it. When you fly, it tilts the map. Which means you can't see what you used to be able to, AND you don't go as fast. Oh well. EDIT AGAIN: Nope, didn't find it. I found ONE extra "dungeon" (challenge), but not THE one. But I found out how to get to it, so it's alright.

I welcome the name changes for the spells. The names are just the same as in all the "newer" FFs. Same with the weapons and armor. I think it's just Square Enix's way of keeping everything the same, and catering to the younger people who have never played the classics. Those who have played the newer ones know that Fira is just one step above Fire and so on with the -ga and -zga. As far as my rating for this game, It's my favorite FF of all time, so I'm gonna be biased. 10 out of 10. I've already played through with all the original characters, and now i'm just working on getting everyone else's(yang,edward,cid,....) "ultimite weapon". I'm not sure how many people know this, but the best way to level up quick is to find enemies that summon other enemies and just kill the summoned enemies, allowing them to summon over and over again. These battles can take some time, but th XP and Gil pay off and add up. Baddies of this nature are easily found in the towers (babil and zot).

Exactly, the summoner types of enemies are indeed the most rewarding. However after level 45 and so on, the exp is still very little, the battles inside lunar ruins should be a main concern since you can rack up to 20k of exp by killing certain enemies.. Also, currently i possess every legendary weapon for all the characters. If anyone manages to defeat the *must escape* dragon inside the lunar ruins, i envy you and i would like to know some of your tactics. The dragon is named Brachioraidos..and is truly the hardest enemy in the game. |

EDIT: Alright, I got the bastard. I'll see what I can do with your dragon, though. EDIT (AGAIN): Damn, Edge's is annoying as hell. Can't figure it out. I'm about to give up on it for now and come back to it after I see if I can find a walkthrough of some sort on it, it's really pissing me off.

Hehe, yeah edge's trial is a real pain in the a**. Tips i can give you is that the palace guard drop keys. also when a message says for example (3left, 5right), from where u are reading, walk those directions. Also check out the walking through walls sorta thingy. it is fille up with those. Lunar Leviathan should be a piece of cake.
