I am on my 3rd journey through Spira ... never finished the game yet either time before ... I usually get bored in the Calm Lands and quit.

This time around I didn't stick around in the Calm Lands and I didn't go to the secret temple and buy that stupid Fayth for 300,000 gil either.
I slammed my way up Mt. Gagazet and guess what? I killed Seymour again without all that stuff anyway.
I'm sitting at under 4500 HP on Auron, just past 42 hours into the game and nobody has a level 3 sphere.
but I'm in Zanarkand anyway doing the trials.

see I got lucky way back before the so called wedding-- fighting Evrae.
I customized Auron's weapon with evade and counter.
I love it
Lulu, Rikku, Yuna and Tidus all have stonetouch, zombietouch, or deathstrike on theirs.
Most everything organic shatters on the second hit.

don't know what i'll do after i get back to the ship yet ... guess it depends on what i feel like when i get there

I guess I take too long going through weapons and shields. Killed alot of time in the desert ...
i tried to get Seymour to use his Aeon in the battle at Mi'iHen/mushroom rock --didn't happen this time ...
Then I spend forever at Djose temple just staring at the angel looking symbol on the floor and everywhere else.
Haven't figured out where I'm going to put it yet --but I want that as a tattoo.
Spent alot of time actually learning Albhed not just using the online translator.

I screw around alot in the temples just yapping at people and dogs -- sometimes chocobos to hear them 'ku.
I also have a habit that if I don't like how a battle ends i'll go back several saves and do things in a different order.
I always challenge Belgamina and get free stuff from guide characters.
Barter for the best price on everything and sell high.

I hang out in Guadosalam A very Long Time... cause I love it there.
It's one of the save points that I keep through the rest of the game just so I can see Zanarkand and Seymour when ever I want.

The most time spent was before riding the Shoopuf ... I actually have to make lists of everything from the vendors to decide who I want to buy which items and equipment from.
If I run out of money I start selling everything I can, including spheres.

only 28 hours huh...

i suppose you'd drop off your chair if I told you I spent over 68 hours the first time when I still thought I could play blitz ball ... Not.
Apparently I suck at virtual sports as well as irl.

It took me say.....around 60 hrs to beat the game and Im tryin 2 get all the Celestial weapons to their full power but I have only Auron,Lulu,Yuna and Rikku's weapons to max strength and Tidus,Wakka and Kimahri's on 1/2 power cause of those arduous tasks their sigils require u to complete. The chocobo race(frustrating),Blitzball(self-explanatory ) and the stupid red butterflies get in my way.I got the 7 butterflies but I hit a red one and I was in the area with Bayra(the demihuman) and I got a teleport sphere .What's with that?

I am training my ppl at about 90 hrs up to now. They're at high enough stats for me and I killed Ultima and Omega weapon.

well to get a lot of ap/exp (about 1500000-3000000 of them) don tonberry shuld help ju with that. he is one of those super creatures in the arena! his counter attack make damage 1-99999 depends on how many monsters u slain. use the limit break option stoic and one counter vill fill ur gauge. use a wepon that vill have the ability x3 limit,x3ap limit-ap and make sure that u have killed a lot of monsters. if ju make his counter count aboute 15 i think he would now start to attack just revive caracters as they are ko´d and kill him fast.
now what are u going to do whith 3000000 ap? well aboute 1500000 u vill have to drop when u have going from 0-99 in slv =D

Well, what I always do, in order to gain a lot of experience is to go to the Omega Ruins with No Encounters armor, explore the place, get all the chests, and then, I go back to the entrance, remove the armor and get into random battles very close to the save point, and save after every encounter, until I feel that I can go further without dying (that can take a while) and defeat Ultima and Omega weapon, which, by then, isn't too hard at all.
By the time you do all this, you are much stronger!.

Tip : Don't let your HP get down to 0. You die.

Hint: Try using a potion. It restores HP.

Thumbs up

Here are a few hints & tips to use as a guide on your journey:

a) Keep a notebook of your Character's and Aeon's Stats as you progress in the game. It will show you whom needs boosting the most.

b) As you collect monsters for the Arena, post in your notebook the kind of monsters in each area and what you get when you steal from them and the prize obtained on defeat. This way you will know where to get items you need to boost your Character's & Aeon's Abilities & Attributes.

c) Pay close attention to on screen messages when you do something for the first time in the game. You only get this info once so you may want to post in your notebook what they were saying by paraphrasing.

d) When you come across battles with "Trigger Commands" make sure you have all the Characters that are able to issue a "Trigger Command" in the given battle scene. When certain Characters talk to certain enemies they get some of their abilities boosted. I think I missed Lulu on one of them because she was so weak on some abilities early on in my game.

e) Build up your Character' Abilities, Attributes, & Skills on the Sphere Grid as often as you can. It promotes their survivability a whole lot & builds up your Aeons in the process.

f) As you build up your Character's Stats you will also boost your Aeon's Stats. Alternatively, you can also boost their Stats by acquiring Power, Speed, & Mana Sphere's and expending them on Aeon's Attributes Screen. It may not look like much help but over the long hard slog of the game it appears to me to be worth it.

g) The most important thing to do in my opinion is to boost your Aeon's Abilities as often as you can. I have spent much of my time just acquiring the objects that I need to boost the Aeon's abilities. They are "tough enough" now and appear to be near bullet proof. It takes some time to do this but as you progress through the game all this stuff appears to fall into place and works pretty good.

h) Acquire each Character's special weapon and boost them in the Macalania Woods by finding the "Key Items" to do so. I am sure you can find a list of this stuff on-line somewhere. You need the Celestial Mirror to do the ritual in Macalania Woods, also. It isn't that hard to get. When you add certain abilities to certain weapons it allows certain Aeon's to Break Damage Limit. Right now my Aeons Valfore, Electra, and Bahamut have achieved the "BDL". This helps in beating the tougher fiends at the Arena. You want to beat the tough guys there because you get items needed to boost your Character's Armor, Weapons, & for Rikku to "Mix" on her Overdrive. Her Overdrive is limited to 9999 HP damage though so Mixing stuff is limited until you can BDL with her.

i) The Butterfly Catching Game is not that hard to do. Just figure out the pattern to run it and then "just do it", as they say. You get good stuff in the chests to use.

j) As you collect objects to boost your Aeon's Abilities you are also collecting AP for your Characters to acquire Spheres to utilize on the Sphere Grid. You are completing the Sphere Grid whilst building up your Aeon's. It's a "Win-Win" strategy, as they say!

k) Make sure that as you acquire the seven Characters to participate in the quest to defeat Sin that you cycle through all the Characters in a given battle scene. This way, when the battle is over, every Character who participated in the battle gets the allotted experience points. Once you call a Character into battle they really don't have to do anything to get the experience points at the end of the battle. You still get credit for participating by just clicking on the "triangle" button
