Blitzball: Holding breath or breathing?

This question has plagued me.

Are they holding their breath, or breathing with a device or their own body?

I want to say holding breath, because Yuna practices it.

Anyone with an answer and evidence?

They hold their breath. I cannot remember where you are told this in the game but they definitly hold their breath. It plagued me to

Its doesnt say anywhere that they hold there breathes on any of the games but there is a short viedo sequence that has Yuna practicing it but that the only sort of proof that there is

I also think that it's holding their breath. Tidus, Rikku and Wakka are well trained at it and explains why why they can fight underwater. The rest sucks at it and can't basicly. But I don't think there's some starnge device on them, cuz that doesn't make to much sense.

yeah thats true no other explanation but if you leave them there under water while you're fighting AND come back after an hour they wil still be there stillll breathing.

Oh boy.If u think too much ur brain will crack in two.We cant really tell but they hold their breath.I can understand that its confusing because I too wondered once.U see,the only thing that I wonder about is:if ur playing blitz and someone kicks u dont u think that the impact or pain will make them stop holding their breath and therefore drown?It really is strange

this must sound really funny, but i dont hink it is exactly water. but then again they would have probably explained that it wasnt. so holding their breathe it is.

Please, they're zeros and ones with lungs. They don't need to breathe. Heck, they could defy gravity, destroy the world, kill Sin considering no one really dies, which kinda makes Sin redundant but...oh heck, Square decided to defy only this one natural law.

Wait, I cannot remember but I think it was in FF X-2 when Yuna says "..all the best Blitzball players hold their breath" To be honest I am not sure what I said is right but it seems to ring a bell

Maybe the people in Spira have better developped lungs than us earth humans and therefore can hold their breath so long...

They hold their breath...for what, 8 minutes? Isn't that how long a Blitzball game is?

Eh, who cares how long it is. I hate Blitzball with a fiery passion anyway.

After sin attacked rikku's ship Tidus was floating face down unconcious in the water for several hours. And my point is...? Anyways square just decided to defy this one law like Lady Ambika said. But I suppose I would say holding their breath if I had to pick one.

Lol. I dunno why we are getting into a debate. Heck, if there is a giant armoury entity and silly little fiends who really annoy you, then surely you can hold your breath. Wait a mo! Belleofthenight is right! Yer! Im sure now. They say that they can hold their breath for only a certain amount of time! Wait?! Im just putting what I said earlier into a different context. Dam Im confused. I think I will leave replying to this thread for a while
