FFVII : The Guilded Soul

OK, this is my first RP so bear with me!

This is set in the world of FFVII, after the events of the game. While SOLDIER (or what's left of them) were clearing up the remnants of Midgar they discovered a mysterious piece of Gold Materia. Unfortunately, the first SOLDIER who tried to use it myseriously died as soon as he slotted it into his armour. Bearing this in mind, the leading SOLDIER on the cleanup op stored it in a locked chest. The following day he returned to the chest to find it in pieces with the Gold Materia missing. By the time he had reached the edge of the city all he could see was a mysterious airship flying away, that looked surprising like the 'Highwind'. Bearing this in mind he organised a team of SOLDIER's who's job it was to chase the thieves and retrieve the strange piece of Materia. As the 'Highwind' had gone south he decided to take them that way, towards the neighbouring village of Kalm, to gather information.

(Yes, this means the crew of the Highwind are the evil people. For this i need the members of SOLDIER that are in pursuit of Cloud and the others.)

Backstory: After joining SOLDIER at 16 Jan went on to become First Class. He was sent to various Mako reactors around the world to check on them. After the Meteor incident he decided he should return to Midgar (his hometown) from Junon in order to help whatever rebuilding effort there was there.

Weapon (including slots): Two matching full tang blades just one is bigger than the other. Smaller one is a dagger. Larger one is a sword. Both black steel with an arch after the hilt where a finger can be placed to twirl the blades easier. 2 double slots, 2 single slots for each blade but one single slot for the shorter blade.

Backstory: Angeles was born as a mistake, hated by both parents, beaten relentlessly by them as well. Angeles ran away numerous times but was brought back by ShinRa officers or family friends after being called and reported Angeles missing. By the time he came of legal age, he walked out of his house on his 18th birthday without a word to anyone. He left with the weapons he had and the clothes on his back and never looked back. Soon after fighting with Shinra soldiers after they accused him of theft, beating them all, a top ranking soldier wanted to recruit him. At nineteen he became first class soldier and was well known throughout ShinRa. The SOLDIERS in Angeles's class call him Angel. Now he's been ordered to hunt down the fugitives that have stolen the Gold Materia.

She met the 'love of her life' when she became First Class, but unfortunately he was killed in action, so now Anna-Maria is trying to pick up the pieces of her broken world, not to mention the pieces of Midgar aswell.

BIO: Is from Rocket Town. She was about 2 when the "rocket incident" happened. She lived next door to Cid Highwind and Cid taught her a lot about mechanics and engineering. When she was about 16, Cid and Juliana worked on the Tiny Bronco together. When Cid left with Cloud, Juliana left to get a job. Eventually, she did get a job, in Midgar as an engineer for SOLDIER. Juliana eventually was assigned First-Class, when she developed the SOLDIER-mech, AIR BUSTER. Once in First-Class, she joined the 5th Division, which prime objective was dealing with explosives. During her employment, she was severely injured during an explosion, while she was fixing a Mako leak in one of the Midgar Mako Reactors. The explosion killed her squad and hospitalized her for about 6 months. Once she was out, she was sent back into Engineering and helped develop the Sister Ray. After 3 months of desk duty (and after the "Sephiroth/Cloud and party" incident) she was assigned to help fix everything the damage to Midgar. She is currently in Kalm, with her squad (which she is the chief mechanic of) because their car broke down. She found a group of SOLDIERs in the area and asked about their situation.

Hair colour: White as snow. His fringe being the longest part of his hair, curls out over one eye. The back of his hair spikes forwards, and always looks shiny and bright.
Other distinguishing features: He is slim and muscular. He wears a sleeveless black vest, with a symetrical silver pattern similar to rose thorns decorating it. His left arm is kept in a sling, as it is unusable. Lex wears tight, black pants (He's not gay, they aren't leather) and his waist is protected by a chain girdle (belt), with a silver dragon's head fastened to it. He wear's chain gauntlets that end at the wrist, these are necessary as his blade has no guard.

Backstory:
Lex, was appointed to the prestigious status of being in 1st class for SOLDIER, sometime after his 19th birthday. He excelled in all aspects of combat, and was noticed by military figure heads for his excellent ability to hold his own in field exercises. He was a gutsy genius, one able to either slice his target in half, or burn it with his powerful Fire materia. He specializes in 2-handed swords, and was an unstoppable weapon at SOLDIER's disposal, that was until he came across a mysterious man.

The man seemed possessed, and had killed some travelling citizens just outside Kalm. In an attempt to save one of them, Lex was hit by a concentrated materia attack from this strange man, and lost the use of his left arm permanently. He spiralled into depression, unable to live with himself for making such a reckless decision. He decided on revenge, and to do that, he needed to train. And so he did for 3 years. His right arm, not obviously strong to a fool's eye, was now able to swing his sword. His left arm rested in a sling, tied around his neck. Until now, Shinra had not heard of Lex for his time spent training, and were surprised by how much strength he now had. He is in Kalm, off-duty, seeking to take his revenge on the stranger that took his arm. He also plans to take the mans materia that so easily disabled the use of his limb.

Is there anything I need to change? Just let me know if there is. I was thinking this gold materia could be what the stranger used on my character, if not, I'll just make it something else, ok? Looking forward to rping with you guys, that is assuming I'm in?

Don't worry Jet, you are in as well as everyone else in this thread. [RANT]The only thing i would suggest to everyone is to TONE DOWN THEIR MATERIA!!! Bear in mind this is post-Meteor Midgar so i very much doubt any of the more powerful (or mastered) Materias would be available (by that i mean Ultima, Full Cure, Shield, etc.). I'd say anything Magic, Summon or Support materia up to lvl3 would work better. Don't mean to nitpick, but it does seem that people are getting abit carried away.[/RANT]

Bio: Deadra Paine in her younger years was abandoned by her parents at the age of nine. The parents didn’t give her name, so when kids ask her name she would reply “I don’t have a name.” She was founded by a gang of assassins and they raised her as though she was already part of the group; they named her Deadra Paine because she was going to be one of them. After years of training, she finally learned to become a spy. At 13, her first weapons were Uzis; the gang trained her long and hard to make her strong. At 16 she got her Devil’s Night Out, and that’s when she began a full pledge assassin. Deadra Paine goes on dangerous missions through out the world; until one day, she went to Midgar and joined SOLDIER. Because of the long years training, she immediatly became First-CLass. Deadra Paine is quick and sly with a kick ass attitude basically. As she got older, she knew there was one mission she needed to accomplish on her own—find her parents and kill them for what they did.

PLOT DEVELOPMENT

At this point i believe we should actually get out of Kalm and start looking for the Gold Materia, as that is what this entire RP is all about. I believe it would be good if our characters split into a couple of seperate teams in order to expand the search area. Any thoughts?

Well I'm already at Junon and several characters left Kalm already. So, it's already developing.

I agree with splitting up in teams for a bit; I mean, it has already done so. I think later on though we should all meet up when the plot develop more. Just a thought.
