God Damn Fackin Nes Ill Kill You If You Freeze One More Time

Does anyone remember the good ol days when your NES games would CONSISTANTLY freeze on you?

Then you'd have to take out the game, blow in the game, then blow in the NES, then CAREFULLY place it in hoping to get it going...only to have it **** up on you once you start your game again?

This happened to me many a times, my buddy actually gettin so mad he smashed his NES....

Normally i would not mind, but when your playin a dubious game such as dragon warrior 4, not even the POPE would have the patience to level up 10 levels, then go to save and it freeze on the last note of the song that it plays while being saved...this is what happened to my buddy....then he smashed the shit outta the nes HAHAH

then he brought his game to my place, put in the game, and heard the music that dredded any old skool gamer, the low pitch "troublesome" music when it first starts up, signifying a loss of a game file (kinda like if you power off without holding in reset)...he then almost smashed MY NES but i stopped him...

Does anyone remember the greatness of those days and the sheer joy and hate of the old school unreliable systems?

WHERES MY ATARI! you cant even SAVE games on that muthafacka ahhaa

Haha, I know how that goes... Apparently you're not supposed to Blow into your NES/Games... it damages them.. but it works I tell you! Who the hell was the first person to come up with that idea anyway?

"Hmm.. Maybe if I ..blow in this.. it'll work! Oh wait.. it didn't... and now there are random flashing colours."

Remember the random colours? Or when you'd push power and the title screen would pop up but then disappear and pop up repeatedly? That was irritating.

If you put the power on and then hold down reset for 5 seconds, it usually fixes that random popping up of the title screen though...

The trick was, when you put the game in, push it in and hold it towards the right side of the nintendo! Once it's in, Press down slowly and hold it in for a bit and then let go. It works 85% of the time!

I also used to wedge a piece of lego in there to hold the game down.. surprisingly it worked more often than not.

If those 2 steps fail, Game Genie was always a great way to get your game workin'! Well... Sometimes....

I hated losing all my saved files on Zelda... It happened so often... I always had my Final Fantasy files though...

Wait wait, blowing into the nes stuff actually f***s it up? Well this completely changes my views of life and everything.

Anyways, I don't think I've ever had a game freeze but plenty just wouldn't work or stopped working altogether. A couple of slaps corrected the bitch.

My nes is almost impossible to get to work unless you keep doing it for about 20 min. My brother had to put playing cards into the top part just for it to work properly. Then he beat Mckids, i don't know if anyone else remebers it but I used to love it when i was little.

M.C. Kids was the greatest game of all time! (Or at least one of them.) I totally owned it (And still do.) Haha, I always made my friend be the black kid. I've never beat it though.. I just got to the Hamburgler's world.. it gets hard as a mofo then.

Hmmm..

Catridge vs. Disc

Each have their pros and cons really... I think I prefer the Catridges for like... the 64 and such. But I think Nintendo knows what they're doing now with the GameCube. Small CDs are much better.

Notice how you could have a huge game for 64 but only need 1 cartridge? Where as most Final Fantasy games took 4 discs!

All my PS1 games are scratched. ALL of them. That's what I hate about discs. They just aren't durable at all. Even if you take care of them they get scratched to hell.

There is like... some kind of built in memory/battery in catridges though... It dies after a while and you can no longer save files on it... which is pretty shitty.

That's an advantage of Memory cards... I guess... You can take 'em anywhere and you don't need to bring your game along to a friend's house with the chance of confusing them! (Something I've done in the past..)

Yup... I dunno... Same shit, different stink.

Ah. Nes. I remember I was nick-named "The Blower" because I could always make the thing magically work.
Lots of trouble starting that thing up, we had. MAN. I wish I still had it. I should've taken it to europe with me, even though it wouldn't work here...good times

I can't remember when saving occured. All I know is, I like my shiny mem cards. I have them in color...mmm...pretty.

The Sega used to do that crap to me.
Sonic wouldn't work and i would blow into the cartridge and ARGH!!
I had to do It around 10 times to get it to work. But my house has birds so lots of dust ends up on my Sega anyways. (I clean I clean!!)
Anyways the first systems bit dust literally.
I think I've had cartridge probs with the Nintendo 64 before >_>?

M.C. Kids was rockin... Yeah. Rockin. ... but back to the post. Blowing worked 99% of the time for me.

The other 1% I just pointed my zapper at the machine and threatened its life.
Darn thing was always firing blanks.
