The entire Final Fantasy series
This is probably a stupid question, but has anyone heard anything about all of the older games being released on other consols than PSX? I don't want to buy a PS2 now since 3 is coming and I only have Gamecube!

To my current knowledge, there are no plans to bring any Final Fantasy remakes to any system other than the DS and the GBA. I sincerely doubt we'll be seeing any such plans anytime soon.
Remakes and ports have rarely done well on any of Sony's systems, and such games on the Xbox would go to an untested market. These games are mainly in the interest of the video game market segment known as the "hardcore gamer," the majority of whom go Nintendo. The DS and the GBA are cheaper to develop for than the Gamecube, and the GBA has better market penetration. Thus, to optimize profits, it makes sense to develop mainly for Nintendo's handhelds. It will likely be a long time before we see any of the older games on any consoles again, although I find it likely that they'll be up for download with the Nintendo Revolution.

I haven't heard any remakes of an FF game besides on DS and GBA, but wasn't there rumors of an FFVII remake on the PS3?

I think that this is the 5 or 6 time i answer this, NOOO. None of the old games is going to be realesed to the new consoles. Not PS3, PSP2 nothing. This has been proved on an international news site for Final Fantasy. Now you have the answer.
And fishie, it was a rumor that is would be realesed to PS2 also. But no, april fool yea. I keep up with things, and trust me that's not going to happen. If it would happen i would know i keep up with everything about Final Fantasy and Square-Enix. And FFVII is my favourite game ever, why do you think my nick is VII-Master?
