Spells in FFV can be found/bought at certain locations in the game. In general, you get new spells by visiting new towns and buying them at the magic shop there, but once in a while you find a spell elsewhere.
If you'd like a spoiler, I can tell you when in the game Fire2 becomes available. Otherwise, just play through and advance the plot and I guarantee you'll find it eventually. |

Ok I just typed up a post, and then realized I had described the FF II magic system.
Ok here we go again... FF V uses a job class system. With that said you need to train your characters in different jobs and as they train and you win battles they will gain ABP or points towards abilities. You need to train in the Black Mage job for that spell and after gaining the required amount of ABP's for Level 3, you will gain level 3 Black Magic spells. The Level's don't necessarily reflect with numbered spells like Fire 2, the Level 2 Black Magic Spells are non-attack spells and the Level 3 spells are considered like Level 6 Black Mage or something. It's not Attack Spell Level = Black Magic Job Level, so don't be confused. The same concept is used for all the jobs. You should look on strategy sites or walkthroughs to look up abilities you don't have yet, if you are wondering how long it could take. But that is an early one, it shouldn't take you that long to acheive it.

Wow people are actually posting in the FFV forum! I mean seriously it is 1 of the best in the entire series yet its so dead in here, I may go through it again soon. As for you question there is a website to help you in any game called www.gamefaqs.com and a very detailed website link to the FFcompenidum can be found at www.rpgclassics.com
