Final Fantasy: Fusion

A sleep eternal, yet blissful. He no longer suffered the terrible nightmares of his first punishment. Now all was peace, briefly interspersed with memories. Pleasant ones, of acceptance, the sense that he was contributing, perhaps even of friendship. Within his resting place, a smile crept over his stony face.

But something stirred in the stillness. A nameless fear swept the land, a terrible energy unleashed, with worrying consequences. The coffin lid flew open, and Vincent woke. Something was amiss. He found his guns, Quicksilver and Death Penalty, just where he had left them months ago as he said goodbye to those he knew and prepared to sleep. He took them with him as he exited the Shinra Mansion, and a disturbing sight met his eyes.

The world was not as he had left it. Nibelheim existed in much the same state, but beyond, his gaze took in foreign landscapes, and within the town, people and things the likes of which he had never seen before where everywhere. Priests in elaborate robes, two-legged blue lion creatures, soldiers of sorts in uniforms he had never seen before. But Vincent remained calm as only one of his origins could do. Something strange was happening, an amalgamation of worlds. He knew the path to stop it was a dangerous one, but he felt oddly compelled to take it. But surely he could not manage this task alone, and there would be others willing to walk the same road...

Right then, I think the synopsis is pretty clear. Play whatever FF character you wish, but bear in mind that characters like Sephiroth and Seymour must STAY in their mortal forms. And I want no arguing about who plays who, it's a first dibs basis. And try to write posts that are thought-out, and which contribute something to the story. Enjoy.

Cloud walked into Nibelheim, he had never liked coming back here, it always reminded him of bad, painful, memories. Cloud had been in the mountains for a few weeks with Red XIII they had slept or eaten properly in days and they where in desprerate need of a place to stay. He looked up and saw the chaos of mysterious lion like creatures and men in odd uniforms. He looked back to Red.. He mimed to him "What the???" Something wasn't right, infact nothing was right, everything seemed so wrong and out of place.

Vincent walked through the gate of the mansion. He noticed he was getting some very odd looks, even from those he knew belonged in the town. Well, it had been a long time since he had descended into the hidden basement. The last thing he wanted was to be percieved as a threat, so he attatched Death Penalty rather uncomfortably onto a large clip on his belt, and did his best to hide the weapon with his cape. He felt slightly nauseous, as if a strange energy were washing over the town. Whatever had caused this apparent fusion was obviously still exerting its influence.

Vincent moved swiftly through the confused throng, in a manner only a creature like himself could accomplish. Nobody noticed him either approaching or passing. He felt that Nibelheim would be of no use at the moment, he needed to find someone stronger than these people. At the entrance to the town he stopped dead. There were plenty of strange-looking people around, but that hairstyle was unmistakeable, as was the glow in the young man's eyes.

"Cloud... It would seem you timed your arrival a little too well. You must have noticed something amiss. I wish to join you again, if you would have me."

Glancing down, he noticed Red XIII for the first time. He nodded at the creature slowly. Vincent had always had a silent respect for the beast. He was quiet and deep, in a different way to Vincent, but he still saw it as a connection of sorts. He was sure that both his old friends would be helpful, should they choose to assist him.

Cloud saw Vincent coming towards him, it seemed years since they had last spoken, Vincent spoke to him, Cloud replied.
"Yes..sure, er... Have you any idea what the heck is going on here? I don't think it was like this when we left..at all, right Red?"
Red nodded his head and looked up at Vincent.

Vincent folded his arms and glanced to the side. "Your guess is as good as mine. You know I have been asleep for a long time. Whatever caused the current predicament woke me from dreams the like of which I've never had." He moved his hand in a sweeping motion, towards the town, and then the field beyond. "Take a look for yourself. This would appear to confirm the existance of other worlds. I think they have been connected."

Red XIII looked around as directed. "What does that mean?"

Vincent's brow furrowed in thought. "I'm not sure. But there is little for me to do but find out. We should go out and find a piece of a different world, see what we can discover."

"Well..How do you suppose we get to the other worlds?" Cloud thought about this neither Red nor Cloud had any kind of machinary to get them there, then there was the aspect that none of them knew where to look!
