Eh... I've got the SNES cartridge for while I'm at home.
I've got the japanese ROM on my laptop for when I'm not.

Don't get me wrong. I love that the game is being revamped and sold for the newer generations of gamers to enjoy, but I don't have the funds to spend on a game I've beaten nearly thirty times. While the extras are certainly a perk, I personally don't see a reason to purchase it.

My laptop serves as my Gameboy when it comes to road play. I don't have many GBA games (though I do make use of the thing on airplanes and such).

I may, however, illegally download a copy of the GBA ROM when it starts making its rounds around the internet. But I didn't say anything.

I'll be buying it. I missed out on it when it was first released, and I've never been able to get it since then. I've rented it and borrowed it, but I've never actually owned it. I'd definitely buy it, extras or not.

I just hope they don't make it any easier than the SNES version. I could actually use a bit more of a challenge in it.

I don't by any means wish to derail you from wanting to buy the GBA cartridge. There's something incredibly satisfying about owning a hardcopy of the game.

While I'm hoping it's not any EASIER than the SNES FFIII cartridge, I can't honestly see it being more difficult unless they add a new dungeon or something like they did with Dawn of Souls -- which was still incredibly easy. Remember, they're wanting to sell the game to the current generation of gamers, which hasn't experienced any challenging RPGs... it's always been the "dumbed down Yankee version" for them.

If you want the real challenge, try to find the Japanese ROM of the original. Finding one that's translated (and isn't just a copy of the US version) is difficult though. If you have problems, PM me, and I'll send it to you. Now, enough talk of illegal things.
